China's Shenzhou 19 crew recently completed the in-orbit test of a pipeline check robot at the Tiangong Space Station, 1 (lay) a technical foundation for future space station maintenance.
Astronauts built a simulated(模拟的) pipeline containing straight, curved and conical sections. They tested the robot's movement 2 (recover) from power failures, and safety mechanisms. The authority reported the robot moved 3 (stable) through complex pipes and confirmed its ability to escape safely during emergencies—a critical feature for space robots.
However, a pipeline check robot faces numerous challenges within pipelines like adapting to varying pipe sizes 4 avoiding becoming stuck in the pipeline in unexpected situations. 5 (inspire) by starfish's tube feet, scientists designed 6 combined active and passive leg-scissor mechanism for the robot. The passive legs adjust swiftly to pipe diameter changes, while the active legs control pressure against walls for steady movement. Its 7 (intelligence) “brain” uses sensors to calculate positions and plan motion strategies.
During the test, ground teams 8 (monitor) the robot's position, current, contact force and other status data in real time through ground support software, 9 allowed them to assist astronauts in completing in-orbit operations.
“This test confirmed the robot's adaptability in complex environments,” said the authority. The success provides experience 10 future robot applications in space station maintenance.

(2025四川巴中中学月考)
China has made remarkable achievements in space exploration. The China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) aims to land its astronauts on the moon before 2030 and has recently shown the spacesuit they plan to use. However, the name of the spacesuit is still up in the air.
The CMSA revealed their new extravehicular(舱外的) activity (EVA) spacesuit at an event on Sept. 28 in Chongqing, China. The presentation mainly focused on the spacesuit's outer features. In particular, the new spacesuit is slimmer and lighter than the CMSA's earlier Feitian EVA spacesuit used for low Earth orbit. It is covered in a protective fabric to guard against extreme temperatures and lunar dust. The spacesuit also has a wide-ranging, non-reflective shield(防护物) and both short and long focus length cameras. Unlike the earlier spacesuits, these lunar spacesuits allow for much more flexibility while moving on the moon.
Apart from the practicality, representatives explained that aesthetics(美学) was also important during the design phase. The appearance of the new spacesuit was emphasized. According to CNN, the mainly white spacesuits have red stripes on their upper parts inspired by the “flying Apsaras(飞天)” from ancient Chinese art. “The stripes on the legs are designed to look like ‘rocket launch flames,’ representing a strong-willed and determined spirit, and that's the key,” as Zhang Wanxin, a director of the China Astronaut Research and Training Center, told China's CCTV. This weekend's announcement also saw the CMSA officials task the nation with helping name the new spacesuit.
This not only shows China's remarkable achievements in space exploration but also reflects its cultural pride and rapid advances in science and technology. By integrating traditional Chinese cultural elements into modern technology, China showcases its unique charm and great power to the world.
1.What is one advantage of the new spacesuit
A.It is more user-friendly. B.It is more dust-proof.
C.It is more pressure-resistant. D.It is more cost-effective.
2.Why was the appearance emphasized in the new design
A.To downplay the aesthetic value.
B.To follow the international trend.
C.To adjust to the lunar environment.
D.To highlight Chinese cultural elements.
3.What is the last paragraph mainly about
A.The technical descriptions of the new spacesuit.
B.The international development in space technology.
C.The cultural pride behind China's space exploration.
D.The future prospect of the China Manned Space Agency.
4.What is the writing purpose of the text
A.To summarize China's significant achievement.
B.To report China's exploration progress and new spacesuit.
C.To encourage more people to engage in the naming activity.
D.To introduce the manufacturing process of the new spacesuit.

(2024河南多校期中联考)
Researchers say new evidence suggests Mimas(土卫一), the icy moon of Saturn(土星), likely has a large underground ocean. Researchers based their findings on data collected by the American space agency NASA's Cassini spacecraft. Cassini observed Saturn and its more than 140 moons for more than 10 years before ending operation in 2017.
Researchers report the data provides the best evidence yet of a hidden ocean about 20 to 30 kilometers beneath the frozen surface.
Mimas is a relatively small moon, about 400 kilometers wide. Researchers say Mimas doesn't have formations(构造) on its surface found on other moons, which suggests the presence of underground water. These can include a broken surface as well as spring activity.
The amount of water thought to exist below the surface of Mimas would represent just 1.2 to 1.4 percent of Earth's oceans. That is because the moon is very small.
However, Mimas does have a very large crater caused by a crash with a space object. The edges of it are raised very high. For this reason, the appearance of the moon has been compared to the fictional “Death Star” space station in the popular movie series Star Wars.
Researchers say the underground ocean appears to have formed recently in space terms, possibly between 5 and 15 million years ago. The ocean would likely have an overall temperature of around zero degrees Celsius. But the temperature at the seafloor might be much higher.
The water is in contact with the moon's rocky center, which may create the right complex chemical conditions to support life. But researchers note that because the ocean is believed to be young, it might be a challenge for life's development.
However, nobody knows how long life needs to appear from a suitable environment. The ocean on Mimas may offer a unique opportunity to explore the first stage of life's development.
Scientists have said that in the past another moon of Saturn, Enceladus(土卫二), might possess the warmth, water and chemical materials necessary to support life.
5.What indicates there is water on Mimas
A.Its small size. B.Its turning speed.
C.Its unusual surface. D.Its position in space.
6.What does the underlined word “crater” mean in paragraph 5
A.Hole. B.Land. C.River. D.Mountain.
7.Why is it difficult for life to develop on Mimas
A.It has no atmosphere around.
B.Its ocean bottom is too warm.
C.The water of its ocean is salty.
D.Its ocean hasn't existed long enough.
8.What might the underground ocean help researchers do
A.Explore the oceans on Earth.
B.Study the formation of early life.
C.Look for useful chemical materials.
D.Search for a possible human habitat.
