Imagine a future where the streets are crowded with vehicles, but strangely quiet as no one is behind the wheel. Drivers are relaxed in the backseats, reading, working, or even sleeping while their autonomous cars move smoothly through both cities and the countryside. In this near future, self-driving cars which rely on advanced sensors, cameras, and artificial intelligence, enabling vehicles to navigate roads without human intervention, are expected to bring significant changes to road traffic.
One of the main advantages of self-driving cars is improved safety. Human error is a major cause of road accidents, but self-driving cars can remove this factor by reacting more quickly and accurately in emergency situations, reducing the number of crashes and saving lives.
Self-driving cars can also improve traffic flow and reduce congestion(阻塞). They can communicate with each other, refining their routes and movements based on real-time traffic data. This leads to smoother travels, fewer delays, and better employment of road resources.
Moreover, self-driving technology has the potential to provide greater flexibility for people who are unable to drive due to age, disability, or other reasons, expanding their access to work, social activities, and essential services.
However, the widespread adoption of self-driving cars also faces several challenges. One key issue is responsibility. Determining who is responsible in the event of an accident involving a self-driving car, whether it’s the manufacturer, the software developer, or the owner, is a complex legal question that needs to be resolved.
There are also concerns about job displacement, as many professions related to driving may be affected by the rise of self-driving vehicles. Additionally, cyber security and data privacy are crucial considerations, as self-driving cars collect and send large amounts of data.
In conclusion, while the future of self-driving holds great promise for transforming road traffic and improving our lives, it also requires careful consideration of the associated challenges to ensure its safe and responsible integration into society.

C. By exchanging real-time traffic data. D. By reacting quickly in emergency situations.

Upon learning I had been exchanged to Bethlehem Catholic High School in America, I was excited. After much effort, I was ready for a fantastic experience, expecting to be the most popular girl with my lively personality and outstanding academic performance. However, the reality was totally different from what I had thought.
My arrival in a foreign country was met with language barriers, cultural shock and a completely different lifestyle. Besides, the academic challenges were huge, and the combination of all these factors made it incredibly difficult for me to make friends.
In contrast, Maisy, a Brazilian student, effortlessly adapted, her cheerful laughter and warm smile drawing classmates to her. She seemed to light up every room she entered, always surrounded by admirers. I longed to connect with her but was held back by my lack of courage and fear of rejection. I often wondered how she broke through the barriers and got on so well with others.
One day, when a costume ball was announced, I was excited and saw it as an opportunity to stand out. I chose a Zorro costume, aiming to appear attractive. Besides, I practiced my dance moves, anticipating the night when I could shine with grace and confidence.
The big day finally came. I arrived at the venue full of expectations. The atmosphere was electric, but I was unprepared for the sight of everyone paired with dance partners, their laughter and conversations creating a symphony of joy that seemed to exclude me. I stood there, feeling like an outsider in my own story. As the music started and couples filled the dance floor, I found myself standing alone in the corner. My practiced moves were forgotten, and my confidence weakened with each passing moment.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;

【47题答案】
【答案】 It was at that moment that I felt Maisy’s eyes on me. I looked up to see Maisy, who was always in the spotlight. She approached me with a warm smile. “Hey there, Zorro,” she said, her voice was light and friendly. “How about for a dance or two ” I was so surprised and a surge of gratitude overwhelmed me. With each dance, I felt less an outsider and more like a part of the celebration. Our conversation flowed effortlessly, and I was amazed to find that, despite our diverse cultural backgrounds, we shared so many similarities.
The costume ball provided a good opportunity for our friendship. It turned into a night of connection and joy. That night paved the way for our friendship. After the ball, we became inseparable best friends. Language barriers and cultural differences, once perceived as solid walls, melted in the glow of shared joy and mutual respect. That evening served as a powerful reminder that friendship, like dance, is a language that remains universal, regardless of one’s origin. Looking back on my time in America, I am thankful for the invaluable lessons and the enduring friendships that will last long after my journey.
