On January 25, 2014, Li Na became the first Asian player to win the Australian Open women’s singles (单打比赛). At that time, 11-year-old Zheng Qinwen was watching in front of a television.
Ten years later, Zheng made history by reaching the Australian Open women’s singles final (决赛). On January 27, 2024, she took the second place in the event. However, no one could have imagined that she would win the gold medal in women’s tennis singles on August 3 at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
