A Virtual Tour Around China
With the purpose of adding variety to students' extracurricular activities and ignite their interest in science and technology, our school launched a virtual tour around China in our school's Science Club last week, which turned out to be a huge success.
In the beginning, a wonderful performance warmed up all the participants. After that, students from each class wearing VR headsets. At noon, the host announced that students found themselves immersed in a journey through renowned landmarks of our motherland, including the zigzagging Great Wall, the picturesque West Lake, the magnificent Terracotta Warriors, to name just a few. Most of the students think highly of this event，which provides a platform for them to explore science and technology.
The event is so meaningful that we all feel rewarded. Not only did the advanced VR technology bring the students a visual feast of China’s scenic wonders, but also it gained them the extensive and profound wisdom of Chinese culture. We all hope more activities will be held in the future.

Getting to Know the Plants Around Us
Last weekend, I participated in a “Getting to Know the Plants Around Us” activity organised by our Students’ Union.
The activity began with a lecture by a local botanist, who taught us about the different characteristics and uses of various plant species. We then went on a natural walk to observe and collect samples of different plants. Throughout the event, I was struck by the incredible variety of plants that exist in our world and learned about plants that are used for medical purposes, as well as those that provide food and shelter for animals. I also gained a greater appreciation for the role that plants play in maintaining the balance of our ecosystem.
Overall, it was a valuable and enriching experience.

Last Sunday witnessed an extraordinary cross-country running race, which nearly drew the attention of every student and teacher of our school.
The students selected from every class took part in the competition. The route measured five kilometers, from our school gate to the foot of Nanshan Mountain. Every runner tried their best to finish the task, with their classmates along the way giving them necessarily help as well as encouragement. At last, all the runners managed to arrive the finish line, receiving cheers from all the directions.

We were tasked to draw or paint something that impressed us most. Inspired by the fantastic scenery, I decided to create a watercolor painting of the small bridge over the park’s pond, surrounded by blooming flowers.
The entire experience was incredibly refreshing. Being surrounded by nature not only sparked my creativity but also offered a much-needed break from the usual hustle and bustle of school life. I felt a deep sense of peace as I painted.
