1 Do you know The Classic of Mountains and Seas
It’s an old Chinese book that talks about many strange and magical animals, plants and places. It also has stories about gods and legends(传说).

《山海经》中记载了许多奇异的动物,以下是一些较为知名的异兽:
蠃鱼:长着鱼的身子却有鸟的翅膀,发出的声音像鸳鸯鸟鸣叫,在哪个地方出现那里就会有水灾。
天狗:形状像野猫却是白脑袋,名称是天狗,它发出的叫声与“榴榴”的读音相似,人饲养它可以辟凶邪之气。
狰:形状像赤豹,长着五条尾巴和一只角,发出的声音如同敲击石头的响声。
肥遗:一种禽鸟,形状像一般的鹌鹑鸟,是黄身子而红嘴巴,人吃了它的肉就能治愈麻疯病,还能杀死体内寄生虫。另有一种说法,肥遗是怪蛇,一旦出现便预示将有大范围的旱灾。
凤凰:形状像普通的鸡,全身上下是五彩羽毛,吃喝很自然从容,常常是自各儿边唱边舞,一出现天下就会太平。
蛊雕:似鸟非鸟的食人怪兽,样子像雕,头上长角,叫声像婴儿的哭啼声,吃人。
九尾狐:形状像狐狸却长着九条尾巴,吼叫的声音与婴儿啼哭相似,能吞食人;吃了它的肉就能使人不中妖邪毒气。
旋龟:样子与普通的乌龟类似,但颜色为红黑,长着鸟的头、毒蛇的尾巴。据说它的叫声像剖开的木头的声音,将其佩带在身上,耳不聋,还可以治疗足底的老茧。
狌狌:张着一对白色的耳朵,能爬着走,也可以直立行走,长得像猕猴,也有可能就是现在的猩猩。传说狌狌通晓过去,但是却无法知道未来的事情。
鹿蜀:生活在杻阳山,样子像马,头部白色,身上长着老虎的斑纹,长有一条红色的尾巴,鸣叫的时候就像人们在唱民歌,佩戴它的皮毛可以使子孙繁衍。
鸾鸟:又称玄鸟、青鸟,有五彩纹,见则天下安宁,是春神的使者、吉祥如意的象征。
朱厌:身形像猿猴,白头红脚,传说这种野兽一出现,天下就会发生大战争。
比翼鸟:此鸟仅一目一翼,雌雄须并翼飞行,故常比喻恩爱夫妻,亦比喻情深谊厚、形影不离的朋友。
狡:整体像狗,身上有豹纹,一对角像牛角,叫声如犬吠。
毕方:形状像鹤,只有一只脚,青色的羽毛之上有红色的斑纹,长着白色的嘴巴。
冉遗鱼:长着鱼身、蛇头,还有六只脚,眼睛形状如同马的耳朵,吃了这种鱼可以使人不患梦魇症,还可以防御凶灾。
此外,《山海经》中还记载了青龙、白虎、玄武、朱雀等神兽,以及许多其他形状各异、能力奇特的异兽。这些异兽不仅是古代人们想象力的结晶,也是中国传统文化中不可或缺的一部分。
