2: What is the ideal Parent-child relationship in students’ opinion
In students' opinions, the ideal parent-child relationship should be built on several key elements. First of all, mutual respect matters a lot: parents are willing to listen carefully to kids’ thoughts and opinions, while kids also value and respect their parents’ life experience and advice. Then, good communication is essential—instead of getting into arguments when there are disagreements, both sides can talk openly and honestly about their true feelings. Besides, trust and support are necessary too: parents should believe in their kids’ choices and give full support to their hobbies or dreams.

Dear Mike,
I'm sorry to hear you're arguing with your parents about joining the basketball club. I understand your feelings—joining the club is a great way to follow your hobby and stay active, so I fully support you.
First, put yourself in their shoes: they just worry your studies will be affected by training. Second, talk to your parents—choose a good time and begin with something like "I know you care about my schoolwork". Then, make sure they understand your feelings and suggest a plan: finish homework first before each training. Finally, try to meet in the middle—you can promise to keep grades up, and they may agree. Be patient with them, and everything will turn out all right!
I hope these ideas can help you talk things through with your parents!
Yours,
Li Hua
