①Doctors and recent studies show that getting angry is bad not only for our health.
②Of course, anger is a normal feeling. For example, few of us can stay calm when a car stops in front of us suddenly or a teacher asks us to stay late to finish homework. But getting angry too often or for too long can cause health problems.
③A study in the Journal of the American Heart Association shows how anger affects the heart. It found that anger raises the risk of heart attacks (心脏病). In the study, researchers tested three groups of people. They made one group feel angry, another feel worried, and the third feel sad. The result shows that people in the angry group had worse blood flow. Dr. Daichi Shimbo explained: “We think that if you get angry a lot, you are more likely to get heart disease.”
④Doctors also know more about how anger affects the digestive (消化的) system now. When you get angry, your body makes many proteins and hormones (荷尔蒙) that may make you more likely to get different diseases in a long term. Your body’s “fight or flight” system also turns on when you’re angry. This system sends blood from your gut (肠道) to your big muscles. As a result, your digestive system slows down, which can lead to constipation.
⑤Anger is also bad for our brain’s ability to think, says Joyce Tam, a brain science expert. Anger makes the body release stress hormones into the blood. High levels of these hormones can damage two key parts of our brain. One part helps us do things carefully and think about things, the other part helps us remember things well.
⑥Luckily, there are ways to reduce anger’s harm. Simple things like deep thinking can help. Learning to express your anger in healthier ways works too. So when you are feeling angry, try to use the two ways to make you calm down.
24.What did theJournal of the American Heart Association study find about angry people
A. They have better blood flow than sad people.
B. Their blood flow runs slowest of the three groups.
C. They have a higher risk of heart attacks.
D. Their blood is different in colours.
25.What is the structure of the passage
A. B. C. D.
26.What can we learn from the passage about managing anger
A. We should never feel angry because it is not good.
B. Deep thinking is the only way to do with anger’s harm.
C. Expressing anger in healthy ways can protect our health.
D. Anger helps our body work better.
C
Different colors affect how we think and feel—and food colors have a big effect on how hungry we get. You might not realize it, but the color of food often changes whether you like it. Let’s look at how common food colors work!
Red is super good at making people hungry. Red food (or even red things around food) makes your appetite (食欲) better and makes you full of energy. If you don’t want to eat, add something red to your meal. For example, a restaurant with red seats might make you feel hungrier as soon as you sit down.
Yellow also makes you want to eat more. It is the color of happiness, so many restaurants use yellow (like yellow windows or flowers) to make you feel welcome — and hungry!
Green food feels “healthy” to most people. That’s because safe, fresh foods (such as lettuce, apples, and cucumbers) are often green. People think green foods are not dangerous, so they’re happy to eat them.
On the other hand, purple and black foods are usually avoided. We’re used to thinking that these colors mean food is spoiled or bad for us. There aren’t many natural purple/black foods (only things like cranberries or eggplants).
Blue is the least appetizing color for food. A study found that even people’s favorite food becomes not tasty when it is blue—even if they tasted normal! So if you’re dieting, use blue lights in your fridge or blue kitchen tools. They’ll make you less likely to eat too much.
27.What do red and yellow have in common
A. Both make people feel less hungry.
B. Both are used to make you eat more.
C. Both are linked to healthy food.
D. Both are the least appetizing colors.
28.How does the writer introduce different effects of colors on us
A. By giving numbers. B. By giving examples.
C. By using scientists’ sayings. D. By asking questions.
29.What does “spoiled” in the text probably mean
A. 新鲜的 B. 溺爱的 C. 腐败的 D. 有毒的
30.Why might blue tools help with dieting
A. Because blue makes food taste better.
B. Because blue is the most appetizing color.
C. Because blue makes food look less delicious.
D. Because blue is linked to happiness.

Dear Tom,
I am very glad to hear from you. Thanks for telling me your daily life. Let me tell you about mine.
I have a healthy lifestyle. I get up early every morning and do some exercise. I eat a balanced diet, too. I like wearing casual clothes, like jeans and T-shirts, because they are really comfortable and easy to match. I don't spend much money on clothes at all. As for spending habits, I save some of my pocket money every month carefully. I often use it to buy useful books or help those in need around me.
This is my daily life. Do you like it
Best wishes!
Yours sincerely,
Daniel
