Recently, I found four useful apps and have decided to recommend them. Even if you don’t think
some of them apply to you, you still feel free to check them out.
Remente
Remente hopes to help you maintain focus, improve well-being, reduce stress, and get the most out
of life. You begin using Remente by creating an overview of your life through evaluating your
satisfaction in areas like health and fitness, personal development, and education. After Remente
personalizes the app to your needs, it will work as your personal coach to give you guidance.
StressScan
StressScan uses your smartphone camera to assign you an objective Stress Index ( 指 数 )
measurement that can help you track your stress levels over time. The app detects the changes in colors

from a picture of your fingertip taken with the camera. Then, using heart rate variability analysis
technology, it will analyze the results and assign a Stress Index value from 1 (most relaxed) to 100
(most stressed).
7 Cups
7 Cups provides online treatment and free support to people having emotional problems by
connecting them with trained listeners. The listener interacts with the person seeking help via a secret
conversation.
Sanvello
Sanvello is based on the principles of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to provide effective
relief for mental health concerns including anxiety and depression. Its features — videos, audio (音频的)
exercises, and activities — are designed to work together to help you learn how to feel happier. The
app’s mood tracking, daily reminders, and health tracking tools allow you to monitor your emotions, see

Li Ziqi is back! After more than three years’ break, one of China’s most beloved influencers
celebrated worldwide for her portrayals (描绘) of rural Chinese life through videos, returned on Nov. 12.
Li marked her comeback with two new videos. One details how she transformed a shed (棚) into a
woodland cloakroom while the other demonstrates the process of making wardrobe doors using the
intangible cultural heritage of Chinese lacquerware (漆器) techniques. These videos quickly went viral
on social media. By Nov. 22, her lacquerware video had 140 million views on Sina Weibo.
Fans from around the globe expressed their excitement. “Three years! It’s been three years since
you last updated! Do you know how I’ve survived these three years You’re finally back! I am so
excited!” commented one Weibo user.
For Li, the past three years were an opportunity to explore deeper into Chinese traditional arts. “I
traveled to more than 20 provinces, visiting over 100 intangible cultural heritage inheritors,” Li told
Xinhua. She spoke with artisans, studied their skills and explored folk culture, learning about the stories,
historical context and materials behind these crafts — all to share them with the world through her
videos.
Although many vloggers have attempted to copy Li’s style during her absence, none have reached
her level of popularity. One key reason is the high quality of her videos. “Her videos show not only the
production process of traditional Chinese cuisines and handicrafts, but also the wisdom from nature and
history,” praised Rednet. “She would spend several months making a single video. Her pursuit of
perfection is difficult for many vloggers to copy.”
Moreover, fans admire the slow-paced rhythm of her content. “People’s love for Li’s videos
reflects modern individuals’ beautiful imagination of rural life and their eagerness for simplicity,”
commented Southern Weekly.
24.What are Li Ziqi’s videos mainly about
A. Rural Chinese life. B. Chinese handicrafts.
C. Chinese cuisines. D. Chinese lacquerware techniques.

Many animals have relatively dull coloring, which helps them match their backgrounds and avoid detection by
predators (捕食者). There are a few notable exceptions like giant pandas. Scientists have long wondered what function
the black-and-white coloring plays.
Recently, researchers analyzed 15 photos of pandas taken in forests in South Central China and used a computer
model to analyze the images as they would appear to predatory cats and dogs. They found that the black fur blends into
(融合到) shade and dark tree trunks. But it also matches the ground, rocks and leaves. The white fur matches snow, rocks
and bright leaves (due to light reflecting from the leaves). The researchers found that cats and dogs would both struggle
to spot a panda in a forest — particularly if the panda was some distance away. The photos were taken from between 5
and 150 meters from the pandas, and included both snowy and sunny environments.
It might seem a bit confusing because pandas are very easy to spot at a zoo, for instance. But the environment and
the viewer make a difference. “We modeled their coloration through predators’ eyes as well as how
humans see them so we are sure of the results,” study author Tim Caro of the University of Bristol says.
They used cats, dogs and human vision models to view each image. Despite the fact that humans see
things differently from panda predators, there are also the situations where people usually see the black-
and-white animals.
“It seems that pandas appear striking to us because of short viewing distances and odd
backgrounds: when we see them, either in photographs or at the zoo, it is almost always from close up,
and often against a backdrop that doesn’t reflect their natural habitats,” says author Nick Scott-Samuel
of the University of Bristol.
“I’m shocked by how well pandas turn out to match the colors of their background,” says Jenny
Read at Newcastle University, UK.
28.Why is Caro certain of the results
A. His team used advanced video cameras. B. His team employed different vision models.
C. His team took photos of pandas very closely. D. His team compared different varieties of pandas.
29.What does Scott-Samuel intend to tell us in paragraph 4
A. The attraction of zoos for pandas. B. How pandas look striking in the photos.
C. The ideal distance for observing pandas. D. Why pandas are usually noticeable to people.
30.How does Read feel about the findings
A. Disappointed. B. Proud. C. Astonished. D. Doubtful.
31.What is the passage mainly about
A. Pandas’ habitat is threatened.
B. Pandas’ colors help them hide in forests.
C. Pandas prefer to live in sunny environments.
D. Pandas can be spotted by cats easily even in the distance.

Today, many people spend a lot of time reading online. Whether reading news or e-books, people
are spending more time eyeballing (盯住 ) screens. While online reading opens up a great deal of
knowledge to people, there are some disadvantages too, such as eyestrain, headaches, as well as
第 4页
{#{QQABIQAswwiwgoRACT76RwkECkgYkICTJCgOgRAeKARqABNAFCA=}#}
difficulty in focusing on the text. Now a new reading system, Bionic Reading, developed by Swiss
typographic designer Renato Casutt, can help people overcome these issues, and most importantly, it
aims to help people read faster online and develop a more in-depth understanding of written content.
The reading system improve the reading process by guiding the eyes through text with artificial
fixation points. To make it short: some parts of the words are displayed in bold (粗体). As a result, the
reader only focuses on the highlighted letters and lets the brain center complete the rest. Your brain can
“read” faster than your eyes, so by essentially reducing the number of letters your eye needs to look at,
you can read faster while still preserving the full context.
Cassult discovered the system by accident. He was working on designing a book in a foreign
language and realized he could read it if he sectioned it off. He worked for six years to develop Bionic
Reading and is still working to adjust it.
A preliminary (初步的) study was conducted by the Swiss Institute InnoSuisse, but more research
is needed before it can be definitively shown that the system improves reading. Some people with
ADHD (多动症) prove that Bionic Reading helped them focus and comprehend what they are reading.
Other people don’t seem to notice a big difference compared to regular text. There’s also no evidence to
suggest Bionic Reading is any better than regular text. The best way to know if the Bionic Reader helps
you read better online is to try it yourself.
32. What is the main purpose of Bionic Reading
A. To point out people’s reading problems.
B. To teach people necessary reading skills.
C. To reduce readers’ screen time and eye stress.
D. To improve people’s reading speed and comprehension.
33. What does the underlined phrase “artificial fixation points” in paragraph 2 refer to
A. Words displayed in capital letters.
B. Useful expressions.
C. Difficult sentences in the text.
D. Bold letters.
34. What do some people with ADHD think of the system according to the text
A. It is complex.
B. It can be beneficial.
C. It needs to be improved.
D. It has little effect on them.
35. What is the text mainly about
A. A reading project for ADHD.
B. A research on language learning.
C. A system to help with online reading.
D. A tool for treating reading disability

Hugging for health and happiness
When you’re feeling down, there’s nothing like a nice big hug from a loved one to cheer you up.
But the positive effects of hugging go beyond a simple shot in the arm. Scientists have discovered that
第 5页
{#{QQABIQAswwiwgoRACT76RwkECkgYkICTJCgOgRAeKARqABNAFCA=}#}
the act of hugging has more benefits than you expect. 36. .
Hugging causes your body to release a number of chemicals that improve your mood. These
chemicals cause your stress levels to fall and reduce feelings of worry and loneliness. 37. .This
means that hugs are great for deepening relationships and reducing conflict.
38. .Gentle pressure on the chest encourages the body’s production of white blood cells,
which help protect against disease. Indeed, a study of 400 adults showed that those who hugged more
often were less likely to get sick than those who didn’t. And frequent huggers who were sick also had
less serious symptoms (症状).
Hugging might also slow the effects of aging in some people. Old mice that were given happiness
hormones (激素) actually began to regenerate their muscles at the same rate as younger mice. So giving
your grandpa and grandma lots of hugs could help them stay fitter for longer. 39. .Babies who
were given just 20 minutes of extra hugs and loving touches per day were shown to have received
positive effects on their brain development.
Therefore, if you’re one of those people who don’t regard themselves as a hugger, you may want to
change your ways. 40. .You’ll be doing them and yourself a world of good.
A. Indeed, hugging can benefit your heart.
B. However, hugging doesn’t only benefit old bodies.
C. Get out there and give your loved ones a hug!
D. To ease the pain, you may want to hug with someone you love.
E. Hugging also helps create a stronger connection between huggers.
F. It does a lot of good to both your mental health and physical well-being.
G. In addition, people who frequently hug receive a boost when fighting off illness.

第二节(共 10小题;每小题 1.5分,满分 15分)
阅读下面短文,在空白处填入 1个适当的单词或括号内单词的正确形式。
For over 300 years, a great ginkgo (银杏) tree in the Dai Temple at the foot of Taishan Mountain
has provided visitors with shade. 56 its old age, the 20-meter-tall tree remains lush and green.
This is partly due to a major surgery 57 (perform) on it over ten years ago.
The result of this surgery can still 58 (see) today. Several younger root systems were grafted
(嫁接) to the base of its trunk. Each of these roots 59 (original) came from separate young trees.
They now connect perfectly with the main trunk and reach into the soil, providing nourishment for the
ancient tree.
This root-grafting technique is one of the 60 (method) used to protect the many ancient
trees on Taishan Mountain. As China's first UNESCO World Heritage site (1987), the mountain is home
to 18,195 ancient trees of 39 species, among 61 23 individual trees are even listed as World
Heritage elements themselves.
The protection of these trees depends on human care across generations. Local people have worked
for decades 62 (protect) these living treasures. In recent years, a scientific management
system has been established. This system 63 (enable) each tree to get enough sunlight, air, and
water through loose soil. It also involves careful attention to the trunk and roots, controlling pests, 64
preventing fires.
By optimizing growing conditions, this system helps these ancient trees live longer and healthier
lives, 65 (preserve) them for future generations.

It was in the year 2016 that I made friends with Bindu who would give direction to my life.
To prepare for Diwali, one of the most important and widely celebrated festivals in my home
country, I was busy enjoying the task of cleaning along with my younger sister in the shop of my family.
Suddenly, the door bell rang. I opened the door only to find myself attracted by the beauty of a lady in a
red cotton dress with a black border. She had extremely good features. Without a second thought I
complimented her by saying, "You are a very beautiful lady," I welcomed her and asked what her name
was. She replied, "I am Bindu." After a happy conversation between two girls, Bindu shared her contact
details and address and left.
The Diwali day had finally arrived. I told my mom that I was going to meet Bindu at her place that
afternoon. My mother agreed but told me to go home early.
I was given a warm welcome at Bindu's place. The welcome smile especially made me feel at
home. Bindu said it was for the first time that “normal people” other than government community
people (they helped the poor) came to their society to visit a friend.
Our endless talk continued. I noticed, throughout our conversation, Bindu hadn't said a single
negative word. She didn't discuss her sorrow, struggle and problems. Through the visit, I felt a positive
atmosphere. Then I realized words could make a powerful impact on a person's life. After that moment I
would avoid negative words while interacting with people. Days passed by and our companionship
grew stronger. Whenever I felt stressed at work, I called Bindu. Her powerful words motivated me.
Those days I was staying in Udaipur, searching for a new room. Finally, I selected two rooms, but
because of my divorce (离婚 ) (In my home country, women, especially divorced women, are always
looked down upon), landowners refused to provide the room. I was totally frustrated.

Possible answer:
I decided to call my friend Bindu and share my experience with her. My voice cracked as
Ipoured out the two rejections—— each“no” replaying in my head. She sighed softly, then
said firmly:“Frustrated over two Rejection is now a part of my life. Don't lose hope. Believe
in yourself. Be patient. It will all work out.” Her warm, steady tone wrapped around me like a
hug. Like always, her powerful words not only healed my pain, but also kindled the flame of
hope in my heart.
Holding back doubts, I bravely continued my search. After months of endless calls and
disappointing viewings, I finally found a sunlit room with a small balcony. The landlady, a
kind old lady, never cared about my marital status. I grabbed my phone right away to call
Bindu with the good news——I had settled down at last. I sank into the chair on the balcony,
bathed in the sunshine of relief and joy. Bindu's words echoed clearly in my ears— soft but
steady:“ Believe in yourself. It will all work out.”

Text 10
M: Billy Ray Harris was homeless. Every day, sitting along the street, he
occasionally heard the sound of one coin or two dropping into his cup. One day, the
noise was louder than usual. If Billy had looked up, he'd have seen a woman putting
some coins and even a diamond ring in the cup. But he didn't.
A little later, he found the ring in the cup. He just went straight to a jeweler's to
change it for money. But then he thought about his grandfather, who had brought him
up to always do the right thing, and he kept the diamond ring. Two days later, to find
the ring, the woman approached him. She introduced herself and asked if he'd found
anything unusual in his cup. Billy pulled out the ring from his pocket and returned it
to the woman.

Bill
分享跨文化交流或个人经历的故事。当然其他合理的选题也正常判分。如果只
说做报告,不具体说选题,就相当于没有说明,该要点不能得分;
