China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is a major, trans-continental programme designed to connect Asia with Africa and Europe via a network of land and maritime passages. Its purpose is to improve regional integration, boost trade and stimulate economic growth. The Belt and Road Initiative has grown from a concept to a key platform for building a community with a shared future for humanity.

There is just one best place for everyone, that is his native town. My hometown is called Nan Ba(南坝), which means a flat land at the north foot of Sheng Dun mountain, one of the major towns in Xuan Han county historically.
I can still remember what the town looked like 10 years ago. It’s only a small town, poor and backward.
Thanks to the government, my hometown has undergone rapid development. There’s been a huge change. Now, students go to school by bike or pared with the past, students went to school only on foot. There are plenty of swimming pools and shopping centres. What’s more, it is a very special place — one of the sources of the West-East gas pipeline now. It’s the heart of natural gas in eastern Sichuan Province.
I love my hometown, it’s developed into a modern city.

Reform
Reform helps tourism sector spread its wings.
The reform and opening-up policy has produced a strong economy and raised living standards, meaning more people can afford to travel overseas. Moreover, more preferential visa policies are available.
Reform drives nation along path to prosperity.
Forty years of improvements to the rail network, airports, waterways and highways have facilitated faster, stronger economic growth.
China is now home to the world’s most modern railway system and the most developed high-speed rail network.
Opening-up
China leads global net revolution.
With the world’s largest number of internet users, the country is a growing cyberspace (网络空间) powerhouse.
E-commerce (电子商务) provided over 43 million jobs. China is also home to Alibaba, one of the world’s leading e-trade businesses, which is bigger than eBay and Amazon combined in terms of sales.
Heritage preservation fueled by opening-up.
The government opened Dunhuang, as a window to the outside world in 1979. Economic and social developments have paved the way for the conservation of cultural treasures. In recent years, with the Belt and Road Initiative, Dunhuang has moved into the global limelight for its traditional culture, especially that of the ancient Silk Road, through its wide use of digital tools.
