It has helped to promote the local economy.
The opening of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway completely broke through the long-term transport bottleneck that had restricted Tibet. More and more specialties of Tibet have been transported to the hinterland via this railway and sold to the rest of the world. From 2006 to 2014, the average annual growth rate of Tibet's GDP reached 10 percent.
It has improved people’s living standard.
The farmers and herdsmen along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway have seized the business opportunities brought by the railway to increase their incomes. A large number of high-quality and inexpensive goods have been transported to Tibet via the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, improving the production and living standards of the people in Tibet.
It has made it more convenient for people to travel.
The Qinghai-Tibet Railway connects many famous scenic areas, such as Qinghai Lake, Kunlun Mountains, Hoh Xil and Northern Tibet Grassland, forming a world-class tourist route full of mysterious charm. Over the past nine years, Tibet's tourism has witnessed "blowout-type" development and has become a pillar industry. Tibet has received a total of 74 million domestic and foreign tourists.

The first landmark (catch) my eye is the splendid Qingshuihe Bridge, the world’s longest bridge (build) over permafrost. Look! A group of Tibetan antelopes ( move) under the bridge, with some (stop) to eat grass at their leisure. They seem totally unaware we are speeding past at over 100 kilometres an hour.
To prevent damage wetlands and grasslands, 675 bridges with total length of about 160 kilometres were built between Golmud and Lhasa.
(Locate) at over 5,000 metres above sea level, this is the highest railway station in the world.
(Use)thousands and thousands of sandbags, we built a twenty-kilometre wall along the lake to protect it construction waste
Cuona Lake is so close to the railway I want to reach out and touch its pale blue mirror-like surface. Water birds (play) in the lake, and cattle and sheep (wander) the grasslands bring the scenery to life.
