A remarkable map created by Wu Yunjie, a member of China’s post-90s generation, has recently gained significant attention izens expressed their amazement at the map’s extensive and detailed markings, which clearly identify countless historic sites and cultural relics across the nation, representing an impressive effort to document the country’s rich history.
Wu has a deep interest in cultural relics and history. When he was in college, he would often make use of his spare time to travel around the country, exploring and documenting ancient sites. In 2020, he started collecting information on cultural relic protection units and uploaded the data to the mapping software.
As some of the information is not fully disclosed and many historical sites in far areas cannot be located specifically, Wu spent a lot of time on research and carrying out on-site visits.
Now, the map includes nearly 10,000 historical landmarks with different colors standing for different kinds: Red signs show the cultural relic sites under state protection or the national-level museums, while green signs stand for the provincially protected historical sites. A lot of ancient temples, bridges and other architecture in the far areas are also marked on the map. A netizen posted, “I actually found the ancient tower around my house on the map!”
However, in Wu’s eyes, the map is not perfect, as it recorded less than two percent of the over 760,000 immovable cultural relics registered in the country’s third national survey of cultural relics.
But Wu has been working on improving it. “If possible, I’d also like to document the cultural relics that have been lost overseas. Those treasures may not be able to return to their homeland for the time being, but the stories that they carry are what we need to see.”
24.What can we learn about Wu Yunjie

NASA’s Voyage 2 spacecraft, which has been probing (探测) the outer bounds of the solar system for over 45 years, is running out of power. But a new plan aims to keep its mission alive for at least three more years.
The Voyage 2, first launched in 1977, has been helping scientists study faraway planets and understand how the heliosphere (日球层) protects Earth. With Voyage 2’s power supply running out, NASA was about to shut down one of its five science instruments on the spacecraft. To keep it going, engineers had already given up heaters and other nonessential parts that used power.
However, engineers have now found a way to use reserve power from a safety mechanism to support Voyager 2. The move will enable the mission to put off shutting down a science instrument until 2026, rather than this year.
Ed Stone, who was the chief scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab, has spent over half his life dedicated to the Voyager programme. He said, “What it revealed was how complex the solar system really is. Before Voyager, the only known active volcanoes were here on Earth. And the only known oceans in the solar system were here on Earth. But we have known more since the Voyager programme started.”
Voyager 2 and its twin, Voyager 1 (launched the same year), are the only spacecrafts to have ventured beyond the heliosphere. Voyager 2 is 12.3 billion miles away from Earth and counting. Voyager 1, also facing an expiration (到期) date as it also loses power, is 14.7 billion miles away.
“The science data that the Voyager are returning gets more valuable the farther away from the Sun they go, so we are definitely interested in keeping as many science instruments operating as long as possible,” Linda Spilker, the Voyager programmes project scientist at the Jet Propulsion Lab said.
NASA, meanwhile, has been working to make sure the Voyager doesn’t end up with a slow failure, with officials weighing expensive and complex suggestions from several groups for a new, long-term probe.
28.How did NASA react to Voyager 2’s power supply running out in the past
A.NASA regarded it to be normal. B.NASA fixed heaters for engineers.
C.NASA shut down its five science instruments. D.NASA tried its best to keep Voyager 2 alive.
29.What does Voyager 1 have in common with Voyager 2
A.They were launched on the same date. B.They have protected Earth for years.
C.They are 12.3 billion miles away from Earth. D.They are likely to stop working in the coming future.
30.What does Linda Spilker want to convey
A.Science instruments attract her deeply. B.The Voyagers can’t fly farther any more.
C.Science instruments on the Voyagers are well worth operating.
D.The farther the Voyagers go, the more accurate science data is.
31.Which of the following is the best title for the text
A.Voyager 2 Has contributed a Lot to Earth B.NASA Is Keeping Voyager 2 Going Until at Least 2026.
C.The Voyagers Will End Up with a Failure D.The Expensive Ways Can’t Save Voyager 2

As cities balloon with growth, access to nature for people living in urban areas is becoming harder to find. If you’re lucky, there might be a pocket park near where you live, but it’s unusual to find places in a city that are relatively wild.
Past research has found health and wellness benefits of nature for humans, but a new study shows that wildness in urban areas is extremely important for human well-being.
The research team focused on a large urban park. They surveyed several hundred park-goers, asking them to submit a written summary online of a meaningful interaction they had with nature in the park. The researchers then examined these submissions, coding (编码) experiences into different categories. For example, one participant’s experience of “We sat and listened to the waves at the beach for a while” was assigned the categories “sitting at beach” and “listening to waves.”
Across the 320 submissions, a pattern of categories the researchers call a “nature language” began to emerge. After the coding of all submissions, half a dozen categories were noted most often as important to visitors. These include encountering wildlife, walking along the edge of water, and following an established trail.
Naming each nature experience creates a usable language, which helps people recognize and take part in the activities that are most satisfying and meaningful to them. For example, the experience of walking along the edge of water might be satisfying for a young professional on a weekend hike in the park. Back downtown during a workday, they can enjoy a more domestic form of this interaction by walking along a fountain on their lunch break.
“We’re trying to generate a language that helps bring the human-nature interactions back into our daily lives. And for that to happen, we also need to protect nature so that we can interact with it,” said Peter Kahn, a senior author of the study.
32.What phenomenon does the author describe at the beginning of the text
A.Pocket parks are now popular. B.Wild nature is hard to find in cities.
C.Many cities are overpopulated. D.People enjoy living close to nature.
33.Why did the researchers code participant submissions into categories
A.To compare different types of park-goers. B.To explain why the park attracts tourists.
C.To analyze the main features of the park. D.To find patterns in the visitors’ summaries.
34.What can we learn from the example given in paragraph 5
A.Walking is the best way to gain access to nature. B.Young people are too busy to interact with nature.
C.The same nature experience takes different forms. D.The nature language enhances work performance.
35.What should be done before we can interact with nature according to Kahn
A.Language study. B.Environmental conservation.
C.Public education. D.Intercultural communication.

Last Saturday, David was taking a walk in the park near his home when he noticed a woman with a boy of about eight years old. When David passed them, he heard the woman yell. “How stupid you are! You’re good at nothing.” David stopped and looked at the little boy. The boy said nothing. He just stood there, looking upset.
David was reminded of his English teacher Mrs Brown in middle school. After he entered a middle school, David lacked self-confidence because he was often made fun of by others. He was often told that he was good at nothing, which David behaved. But one day it all changed.
One day, in an English writing class, Mrs Brown asked them to read a novel. They were asked to write a new chapter of the novel after they finished reading it. A few days later, David handed in his story. He didn’t give it much thought. But the next day, to his surprise, the comment “well done” from Mrs Brown came into view the moment he turned to the page where the story was written. When David read that, he almost burst into tears. He never expected to be praised one day. He suddenly gained some self-confidence.
That day after he returned home, he wrote a short story and gave it to Mrs Brown the next morning. And again he was praised. David became very interested in writing. He often wrote short stories and asked Mrs Brown to read them improve writing skills. One year later, David joined the school newspaper and became an editor of it. He was no longer that boy who lacked self-confidence. He gained his confidence, and was hopeful about his future.
He succeeded in entering a college and kept writing. Several years after graduating from college, he had his first book published. With some more books coming out, he became famous as a writer in his country. And he owed his success to Mrs Brown’s encouragement. Without her encouragement, his life might be very different now.

67范文:
Inspired by his own life story, David decided to do something for that boy. He went to the woman, who immediately recognized him because she had read his books and seen his pictures. David started to chat with her. He told her that what she said to her boy was not appropriate. Then he told her about the encouragement he once got from Mrs. Brown. In the end, he said, “I couldn’t have become a writer if I had believed I was good at nothing.”
The mother was ashamed when she heard that. She realized that she shouldn’t have called her son stupid, which would make him lose confidence in himself. So she said, “Thank you for your advice. I’ll never say such things to him again. Instead, I’ll find out what he’s good at and encourage him.” The woman then left with the boy. Looking at the back of the boy, David felt relieved, hoping his action could make a difference to the boy.
