My Shining Points
Everyone has their own shining points. It is important to find them out. As for me, I've discovered two shining points that shape who I am. First, I'm a quick learner, especially when it comes to English, which enables me to grasp new grammar and vocabulary efficiently. Second, I possess an optimistic nature, always looking for the silver lining in challenges. Realizing these strengths has made me more confident and proactive.
I now embrace learning opportunities with greater enthusiasm and approach difficulties with a positive mindset, knowing that my abilities and attitude will help me grow. Discovering my shining points has truly been a turning point.
第二节
Just then, some cautious footsteps drew near from some distance away. Jimmy looked up and saw the elderly hunter approaching, his expression serious but calm. “I thought you might run into trouble,” the hunter said, peering into the trap. Without another word, he took the rope from his waist, tied it securely around a nearby tree, and lowered it to Tommy. With the hunter’s guidance and Jimmy’s assistance, Tommy was carefully pulled out of the hole. The hunter then examined Tommy’s ankle, wrapped it firmly with a piece of cloth from his backpack, and handed him a sturdy branch as a temporary crutch. “You’re lucky it’s not worse,” he remarked quietly, his eyes scanning the darkening forest. “Storms are coming. We must hurry.”
Jimmy and Tommy gratefully accepted the offer and headed slowly for his cottage. As they walked, rain began to fall, but the hunter led them confidently along a hidden path they had missed earlier. Inside the small, warm cottage, the hunter lit a fire and prepared hot tea. Sitting by the fireplace, the two friends felt a mix of relief and shame. They realized how their overconfidence had nearly cost them dearly, and how a stranger’s kindness and experience had turned danger into safety. That night, they not only found shelter from the storm, but also learned a timeless lesson: respect for nature and humility towards wise advice are the true companions of any adventure.
