For thousands of years, people have looked up into the night sky and wondered if humans could live on other planets. While Mars is often discussed, Venus, the Earth’s closest neighbor, is also an interesting planet to study.
Venus is often thought of as the Earth’s twin sister because the size and composition (构成) of the two planets are similar. But Venus has some of the most unusual conditions in our solar system (太阳系).
Venus is the hottest planet in the solar system because its thick air is full of CO . It holds heat like a blanket (毯子) and keeps the planet’s surface temperature at about 465°C.The air on the planet is so thick that if you try to move your arms quickly, you will feel resistance like swimming in water.
Similarly, it is hard to overlook the high air pressure on Venus, which is about 92 times stronger than that on Earth. To experience that pressure on Earth, you have to travel more than 914 metres down into the ocean.
Even time works differently on Venus: It takes Venus about 225 Earth days to travel around the sun, and 243 Earth days to rotate (旋转) on its axis (轴). The sun rises once every 117 Earth days, meaning that you can only enjoy about two sunrises every year. What’s more, the sun rises in the west and sets in the east!
So if humans try to live on Venus, we will face many challenges and it is nearly impossible with the technology we have now. This exactly reminds us that Earth remains the only known planet with conditions perfectly suitable for life. For our future, it’s necessary to protect it by making less pollution and saving resources (资源). Let’s take care of our beautiful blue planet—the only home for humanity together!

Capybaras, the world’s largest rodents (啮齿动物), come from South America. These fascinating animals can be about 1.3 meters long and weigh up to 79 kg. They have short brown hair, short noses, short legs, small ears and hardly any tail. What makes them famous is that they can get along well with many other animals and even humans!
There is a café called the Capybara Cafe in Florida, the US. It isn’t a typical coffee shop. Instead, it provides the chance for visitors to spend time with the cute animals. The café has been very popular since it opened. Animal lovers have to book several months ahead to have a chance to visit it. A half-hour visit is $49 for each person.
After entering the reception (接待) area, visitors are divided into groups of 6-7 people and taken to a smaller room. The staff then put blankets (毯子) on the visitors’ legs and bring three capybaras into the room. “You can scratch (挠痒) them and show them your love,” said Stephanie Angel, the owner of the café. “They’ll climb onto your legs because they’re very used to people. And if you’re really good at scratching them, they’ll feel comfortable and even fall over.”
Several zoos and wildlife parks in the US allow people to meet capybaras. But Angel says none of them let visitors get as close to the animals as they can at the Capybara Cafe. She also plans to open another capybara cafe soon in Florida. The first one doesn’t sell coffee or hot food, even though its name includes “café”. ▲ They hold the idea that manners make people act in a way that doesn’t mean how they really feel. If someone says “thank you” or “sorry” when they don’t mean it, they’re not being polite. For our future, it’s necessary to protect it by making less pollution and saving resources (资源). Let’s take care of our beautiful blue planet—the only home for humanity together!”

根据文章第一段“They have short brown hair, short noses, short legs, small ears and hardly any tail.” 故选A。
根据文章第二段“There is a café called the Capybara Cafe in Florida, the US.”可知提到了咖啡馆的位置,即②;根据“The café has been very popular since it opened.”可知提到了咖啡馆的受欢迎程度,即④;根据“A half - hour visit is $49 for each person.”
根据文章第三段“After entering the reception (接待) area, visitors are divided into groups of 6 - 7 people and taken to a smaller room. The staff then put blankets (毯子) on the visitors’ legs and bring three capybaras into the room. ‘You can scratch (挠痒) them and show them your love,’ said Stephanie Angel, the owner of the café. ‘They’ll climb onto your legs because they’re very used to people. And if you’re really good at scratching them, they’ll feel comfortable and even fall over.’”
根据文章第三段“‘You can scratch (挠痒) them and show them your love,’ said Stephanie Angel, the owner of the café.”

根据第一段中“Whether it’s putting your elbows on the table or talking with a mouth full of food, everyone has to watch their manners at some time.”
通读第三段,本段首先通过“Many old people think so.” 因此,本段的主旨是“Good manners are very important.(良好的礼仪非常重要)”。故选B。
根据第四段“They hold the idea that manners make people act in a way that doesn’t mean how they really feel. If someone says ‘thank you’ or ‘sorry’ when they don’t mean it, they’re not being polite...As long as people are kind to others, they should be allowed to act how they like.” 故选A。
根据第二段中“Eating food loudly is considered rude in some countries, but in others it’s a sign that people are enjoying their meal.”

We teenagers have more and more pressure while growing up. Many factors can cause pressure.
Last term, before the final exam, I was under great pressure. Anxious and worried, I couldn’t sleep well at night. Luckily, my parents helped me get rid of the stress. They made me take an active part in all kinds of after-school activities to relax myself. And we have more communication than before.
It’s common for students to have pressure in study. The most important thing is how to get it over bravely. Firstly, we can talk with our parents, teachers or friends and ask them for help. Secondly, we can do sports or listen to some light music to relax ourselves. Lastly, we can go for a walk in the park to calm down. In short, we should face the pressure bravely and deal with it properly.
