Italy has more must-see tourist spots than you can imagine. With so much to do and see, most visitors can't wait to travel around, taking in everything. Luckily, getting around this boot-shaped country is easy, thanks to its excellent transport services. Here's what you need to know about getting around in Italy.
Travel by train for the amazing sights in Italy.
It is convenient to travel by train in Italy, because most large cities, including Rome, Florence, Naples, Bologna and Palermo, are connected by regular train services. Best of all, you can sit back and enjoy the wonderful scenery in between them.
Buses are the most inexpensive way to explore in Italy.
Though slower, buses are a cheaper form of transport than trains in Italy, and they provide access to smaller towns and villages not served by Italy's trains. Buses are run by private companies with a web of routes (路线) that reaches to most places of the country.
Getting around by car means getting the most freedom.
Having a private car in Italy means you can travel at your own pace and visit places without public transport, which is particularly handy in the mountains. However, parking can be hard to find in cities and local drivers are usually impatient and quickly use their horns.
Cycling is a great way to travel in the countryside in Italy.
Cycling is a great way to explore every corner of the countryside. It's very popular in northern Italy, including in the Alps, but less so in the south. Bicycles are not allowed on motorways but they can be carried on some ferries, and on some trains with the bicycle logo (标志).

In July 2021, my husband, daughter and I flew to Whitehorse to care for my sick old father. A few days before we arrived, my father called to say he was being flown to Vancouver for another operation (手术). My husband and I had already had our two months' leave and booked the air tickets, so even though my dad wouldn't be there, we made the trip north anyway.
Dad kept a dog. He met him from a local shelter (收容所) two years earlier and renamed him “Scruffy” because he looked untidy. His fur was messy. While we were alone in my father's house with nothing to do, Scruffy saved us. The dog needed to be walked. Those walks were chances to revisit where I'd grown up. I had left that small town behind as soon as I finished high school. Scruffy and I took my family to the school, where my picture still hung.
By the fall, we were back in Toronto and Dad was back in Whitehorse. When I visited again in November on my own, my father was tired and spent his time sleeping a lot. With no one to talk to, I found myself chatting with Scruffy. I gave him many nicknames: Scruffster, Scruff-man, Scruffmaster, etc. He would happily answer them all.
The last month of the year was hard. My father died. Visitors came and went. Boxes were packed. And we had to rehome Scruffy. My husband and I were all too busy with our jobs to keep a dog. But it didn't matter because months earlier, Scruffy had won the heart of my father's home care nurse.
Last summer, I took a trip to Whitehorse. During my stay, I dropped by the nurse's home to see Scruffy. As soon as I opened the door, he ran up to me as excitedly as ever. This little dog had helped me go through one of the worst years of my life.

A.appearance B.favorite food C.early experiences D.sleeping habit

A.She communicated a lot with her father.
B.She went back to her school with Scruffy.
C.She picked up Scruffy from her father's home.
D.She often talked to Scruffy and played with him.
22.Which sentence below can best describe the relationship between Scruffy and the writer
A.Love me, love my dog.
B.A friend is a second self.
C.Friendship develops not just between humans.

Art, to many people, is a human expression of creativity. But in recent years, you may have read news about AI (人工智能) creating its own art, such as painting or writing poems. Some people worry that AI might someday replace artists. But this worry seems to be unnecessary, at least for now. Many artists today are turning AI into a useful tool. Instead of replacing artists, AI is bringing artists more possibilities.
A piece of music created by AI has recently attracted attention. AI was used to turn the virus into a piece of nearly two-hour long music. The project was led by a scientist and he tried a special note (音符) in each amino acid (氨基酸). The AI then translated these notes into music.
Listeners found the project unbelievable. “It allows me to see the virus in a new way,” said one listener. This surprising marriage between science and art could not be achieved without AI. As a scientist wrote, “AI helps artists play around in creative ways, making things possible beyond what they have ever thought before.”
AI can also take care of repetitive tasks for artists. For instance, in the comic and animation(动画) industries, artists don't need to color in black-and-white line drawings over and over again because now AI can help with such work. It could give artists room to try more creative activities by cutting down the time this kind of work takes.
As Peter Ward wrote for The Culture Trip, “Art of every kind has always been influenced by technology.” AI can become a useful tool to bring changes to the art world if it's welcomed and not feared.
23.What do people worry about according to Paragraph 1
A.AI might take the place of artists.
B.AI might become harmful to humans.
C.AI might make art too similar to each other.
D.AI might make art too expensive for most people.
24.How did the scientist use AI in his music project
A.He used AI to sing a song.
B.He used AI to write a new song.
C.He used AI to turn the virus into music.
D.He used AI to create new amino acid.
25.How does the writer show AI can take care of the repeated tasks in Paragraph 4
A.By making a comparison. B.By giving an example.
C.By using the numbers. D.By quoting a saying.
26.Which of the following is probably the writer's opinion
A.AI has influenced the art creativity by replacing artists.
B.AI is bringing fewer possibilities for artists to create better art.
C.It's necessary for artists to worry about the development of AI.
D.AI is turning into a useful tool for artists if it is well used.

After-school Activities Color Our Lives!
My favorite after-school activity is doing sports. It can help improve my health and make me confident.
When I was in Grade 8, my teacher asked us to join the basketball team and play basketball after school. It was a big challenge for me. I felt so nervous that I even couldn't sleep very well. Luckily, with the encouragement of my teacher, I made a great effort to practice with my team after school every day. Day by day, I played basketball better and better, so I became more confident. Then, I got a deep understanding of the saying “Practice makes perfect!” I believe the more effort you put in, the better you will be.

W: That's just the name of our town. It rains a lot.
M: I can't believe it! What can we do at home
W: We can read some novels if you like. Or I can invite my friends and have a party in my house.
M: Fine. But I really want to try some local food in your town.
W: What about ordering the food online and enjoying it at home

Hello, everyone. The topic of my speech today is Earth Day. No one likes pollution. We have to take care of the earth. Earth Day makes people remember the importance of protecting the earth. It started in 1970 in the USA. Now, people in 192 countries celebrate Earth Day so it has already become an international environmental event. It is celebrated on April 22nd every year. On that day, people often do the things for the environment. For example, people clean up their towns and roads. They recycle paper so that it can be used again. Some people take the bus or subway instead of driving on that day. They take short showers and turn off lights when they leave the room. Each Earth Day has a theme. The theme for Earth Day 2024 is “Planet vs. Plastic”. We know that our earth has been hurt by plastic for years. The earth is our home! Let's make every day Earth Day to make our home better and better!
