Step 1 Warming-up
Teacher and students say greetings and teacher asks:“Which cities are big cities in your eyes?”
Students answer:Beijing,London,Washington DC.,Wuhan...
Teacher shows a picture and asks: “What can you see in the pictures ”
Students answer: I can see the Changjiang River/ the Yellow Crane Tower/some trees/the Yangsze Bridge...
Step 2 presentation
Watch a video about Wuhan.—see the beauty of Wuhan
Check students’ learning papers(课前学习任务单)and solve students’ questions
Teacher shows a map of Hubei province: Wuhan is a big city in China. Wuhan is the capital of Hubei.
A detailed map of Wuhan: learn the sentences of the text according to the map.
“Wuhan is a city of rivers. The Changjiang River runs across the city from west to east.” “The Han River enters the Changjiang River here”.
“Wuhan is also a city of lakes because there are many lakes in the city”.
“The East lake is the biggest. There are many beautiful parks around the lake”.

Tr. Shows some photos of the famous people in Wuhan: Fu Mingxia-swimmer, Yang Wei-gymnast, Liu Yifei-actress, Sun Donglin/ Dong Ming/ Wang Zhengyan-moral models, Li Na-tennis player. Teacher says:”Wuhan is a city of famous people”.

Teaching reflection:
本课内容是关于武汉这座城市的简要介绍。课文内容难易适中,很多学生都在武汉生活和学习,所以学生从心理上对于这个话题并不陌生。本课重点在于对语篇的理解、运用和扩展。教师通过课前学习单和微视频让学生提前预习课文,完成课前几个任务并且提出自己对于本课的疑惑。教师课上解答学生疑惑,通过课堂学习单,带领学生学习课文,完成练习,最后运用知识并且扩展知识。通过本课的学习,学生都积极参与课堂活动,基本上都理解并掌握文本语句,对武汉这座城市也有了进一步的了解。
在教学过程中,教师可以用更自然的语句让语篇的学习更加连贯。在学生展示环节,可以让学生分组合作,搜集武汉更多的信息,让更多的学生得到展示自己的机会。
