I was born in Brazil. But my mom and my dad come from two different countries. One is from Australia, and the other is from America. I feel like I am a world citizen. That has made me very interested in different cultures since I was young.
When I was a little child, my dad told me about Marco Polo’s stories. Surprised by the long and interesting history of China that the stories show, I always wanted to visit China by myself! When I moved to Hefei, I was really excited to learn about this new place.
I chose to live in Hefei because it is full of history. The kind people here make me think of my parents and the stories about their hometown. I feel like I’m part of a big family. Chinese people always smile and are ready to help those in need. Kids sometimes come up to me just to say “hi” or try talking with me in English. I feel so welcome in this place.
Now, I work as a teacher at an international school here, teaching students from 33 different countries. It’s amazing to stay in China, learning and teaching at the same time.
Living in Hefei adds depth and color to my life. Every day is wonderful for me to learn something new and to share stories with others. I’m really happy to be here and to keep learning about this wonderful place and its culture.

Do you know what a team needs most If people on your team are not good at communication, you may often feel terrible. To create a successful team, good communication is the most necessary for both the team members and the leader. Here are some helpful suggestions.
Don’t criticize (批评) other people. When someone on your team does something wrong, don’t criticize them. You can help them to find the reasons and then help them to solve the problem. Criticizing your team members too often may make them want to keep away from you. As a result, you may feel lonely.
Listen to other people actively and think about their ideas carefully. When someone tells you about their ideas, you should listen to them actively and think about their ideas carefully, no matter how silly they may seem. This shows you care about their ideas and makes them feel good. If you are unclear about something, you should ask them about it. By doing this you can clear up any doubt before moving on.
Share your own ideas with other people. When you have a new idea, talk about it with your team members. This helps to make the idea better. Besides, it also helps to make your relationships with your team members better.
Create an environment where everyone feels comfortable expressing their thoughts and opinions without fear. This builds trust, leading to a more harmonious (和谐的) team. By the way, team meetings weekly or monthly should be held to discuss something important and necessary.

Want to stay away from colds Put on a happy face.
Compared to unhappy people, those who are cheerful and relaxed are less likely to suffer from colds, according to a new study. It’s possible that being happy helps the body fight illnesses, say the researchers from New York University.
“It seems that positive feelings may reduce the danger of illness,” said the study’s leader researcher Sheldon Cohen.
In an earlier study, Cohen found that people who were cheerful and lively caught coughs and colds less often. People who showed feelings were also less likely to tell their doctors that they felt ill.
In this study, Cohen’s team interviewed 193 adults every day for two weeks. During the interviews, the people told researchers about the happy or sad feelings they had that day.
After two weeks, the people were given colds by doctors and had to stay alone in a room for six days.
The result showed that everyone in the study was equally likely (同等可能) to get ill. But for people who said they felt happy during the research period, their illness was less serious and lasted for a shorter time.
Cohen believes that when people experience positive feelings, their body may produce a chemical that helps fight illness and disease. So if you are worried about your health, look on the bright side more often.

As the new school year begins, first-grader Dong Chengyu from Zhengzhou, Henan Province, smiles happily as he tries on his free school uniform. Unlike regular uniforms, the uniform still has the name of the child who 31 (own) it before him.
A recycled uniform program at a primary school in Zhengzhou has 32 (recent) become popular. Many Internet users speak highly of the action. It not only saves money but also helps the environment. Some people say this practice should 33 (introduce) to schools all over the country.
For fourth-grader Zhao Zitong, this summer was his second time joining the program. He exchanged his old size—130 uniform for a size—150 one 34 free. “We were very surprised when we first learned that children could get free school uniforms,” said his mother. “Kids grow fast, so this will save 35 (family) a lot of money.”
The school collects uniforms in two ways—either from graduating students who give away their old ones, 36 from older students like Zhao Zitong. Before passing these uniforms on to 37 (young) students, the school makes sure each one gets a deep professional cleaning to make sure they’re clean and safe 38 (wear). “The uniforms are still in good condition—just too small for some growing kids,” Hu said. “Recycling avoids waste and teaches children two important lessons: one is to save money and 39 other is to protect our planet.”

The harm of the radiation won’t be found until their children even grandchildren are born. Some special medicine may work a little, but no really effective medicine has been found so far.
Space rubbish is also thought to be a great danger to spacemen. It’s reported that there were 9,000 man-made things flying in space. About 30% of these are satellites, 10% are spaceships, and the rest are space rubbish. An explosion (爆炸) in space in 1999 made a cloud of 300,000 fragments (碎片), each at least 4mm in size. A small piece of these even knocked a spaceship window and caused some damage (损坏).
Scientists are watching and reporting any possible danger all the time. They are working to deal with space rubbish. Although space is really dangerous, it interests many people on the earth. In the near future, it may become possible for people to spend a few days in a space hotel. We may even choose to leave the earth and live in space in a few years.

根据“The school collects uniforms in two ways—either from graduating students who give away their old ones,...from older students like Zhao Zitong.” 故填or。
根据“Before passing these uniforms on to...students”可知,此处表示传给更小的学生,与前面的older students相对应,因此用young的比较级younger。故填younger。
根据“make sure they’re clean and safe...” 故填to wear。
根据“one is to save money and...other is to protect our planet.” 故填the。
根据“this recycled uniform program has won growing support from parents and...children.” 故填their。
