(2024·太原模拟)Chinese artificial intelligence pioneer SenseTime unveiled an AI interactive Go (围棋) version of its consumer product “SenseRobot”, bringing AI technologies and the Go game to more households.
Go, or weiqi in Chinese, is one of the earliest binary-based games and known for its complexity (复杂).After the historical game between South Korean Go master Lee Se-dol and AlphaGo in 2016, AI has gradually become an important “assistant” for players to train and improve.
Featuring SenseTime’s advanced AI and robotic arm technology, the AI Go robot can practice and play games on a real board.Equipped with a large number of selected exercises and human-machine game training at 20 levels, the robot can meet the demands of both the amateur and the professional. It also enables connection to online Go platforms, where the user can play actual games with millions of players from across the world.
Compared with the SenseRobot’s xiangqi model launched last August, which plays Chinese chess, this new robot has seen many technical breakthroughs.Shen Hui, Dean of the Innovative Engineering Institute of SenseTime, said it was much harder to develop the Go robot and the previous version has laid a solid foundation.
Shen highlighted the robotic arm.Using cutting-edge visual techniques, algorithms and the company’s originally designed arm, the robot can read the board and pick up small chess pieces precisely.Furthermore, the robot is able to reconstruct the scene of playing a real game, Shen said.
Nie Weiping, a Chinese Go master and the vice chairman of the Chinese Weiqi Association, tried the new robot and spoke highly of it.“Modern technology brings unprecedented challenges and opportunities,” Nie said.He also noted the SenseRobot will promote the development of Go culture and help the public feel the charm of the game.
“We hope SenseRobot can redefine the future of family robots,” said Xu Li, chairman and CEO of SenseTime.“It can not only bring new life experience for families, but can also inject new vitality (活力) into the Go game as our cultural treasure, and promote the diverse development of our traditional culture.”

In March 2023, a group of computer scientists at Microsoft Research published an assessment of OpenAI’s new chatbot, GPT-4.The team’s report drew global attention to one test in particular. They put this question to GPT-4.
Here we have a book, nine eggs, a laptop, a bottle and a nail. Please tell me how to stack (堆叠) them onto each other in a stable manner.
This is not an essay question but a practical problem demanding common sense and even original thought.
Earlier versions of the chatbot gave absurd answers (such as stacking the nine eggs on top of each other). But GPT-4’s answer called for arranging the eggs in a three-by-three array (排列) between the book and the laptop. The egg layer supports the book, whose weight secures the eggs in place. The book in turn supports the bottle and nail. This answer, praised as a triumph, resulted in the current global wave of AI anxiety. It has fueled debate about how Large Language Models (LLMs) are able to perform creative tasks.
The egg-stacking puzzle is an example of a functional fixedness problem. As described by Gestalt psychologist Karl Duncker in a 1945 paper, the solution involves using some of the objects in unusual or creative ways.
By 2022, LLMs were being trained on as many as 17 trillion words of human-generated text, mainly from the Internet. It’s all but certain that GPT-4 was exposed to functional fixedness problems in its training.
Are LLMs truly original, or are they just plagiarists good at covering their tracks? There’s nothing entirely new under the sun.Edison did not invent the lightbulb; he improved it.Most so-called creators apply knowledge from different fields to a problem and arrive at a solution. It’s more a matter of making relevant connections than of creating something completely new.If LLMs are indeed acquiring the ability to make relevant connections, that would be a great — and worrying — development.
5.What do we know about the question put to GPT-4?( )
A.It lacks creativity.
B.It is definitely easy.
C.It is challenging indeed.
D.It’s about text processing.
6.What did GPT-4’s answer lead to?( )
A.Growing worry among the public.
B.Widespread praise from the experts.
C.A heated discussion on where AI will go.
D.A debate on whether we should develop AI.
7.What does the author think of GPT-4’s answer?( )
A.It is completely original.
B.It can hardly put into practice.
C.It’s based on previous training.
D.It has beaten human intelligence.
8.What is mainly stressed in the last paragraph?( )
A.The importance of being original.
B.The ability to establish connections.
C.The great contributions of creators.
D.The difficulty in creating something new.
What is it that allows Steve Jobs and Elon Musk to innovate so consistently?9.( ); it’s about trying to find a new perspective; it’s about trying to step outside of the mental constraints (限制) we impose upon ourselves to attempt to look at a problem in a new light.
Being creative allows yourself to do things, experience things or consider things in unfamiliar ways.10.( ).
  Be curious
Creativity at work is not limited only to what goes on in the workplace.11.( ), you need to broaden your horizons.Try to find ways to step outside of the world you are familiar with and learn about as many fields of knowledge as you can.If you have too narrow an outlook, you won’t be able to break out of your limited world view and make the connections you need to have original thoughts.
  12.( )
If creativity is all about having different perspectives and viewpoints, then it must make sense to hire people from different backgrounds and with different experiences. If you’re the boss, don’t simply hire people in your own image. If you populate your office with your clones and your company with like-minded people, creativity will suffer.A much better hiring policy is to try to create a team as diverse as possible. When it comes to discussions and coming up with new ideas, you will reap the rewards.
  Surround yourself with inspiration
Always be on the lookout for new and exciting material and adorn (装饰) your workspace with whatever you find.13.( ) — it’s up to you.Make sure you keep replacing everything too — it will keep your space fresh, and this, in turn, will keep your mind fresh.Above all, don’t let your environment become dull and boring.
A.Have a diverse team
B.Start your day with creativity
C.If you want to be a creative and innovative individual
D.Here are a few things to help you become more creative
