参考范文:
Dear Kevin,
Hope this email finds you well.I’m writing to express my gratitude for your fascinating lecture on music last Friday. It was truly an enlightening experience!
My biggest takeaway is how music reflects cultural identities — through a universal language, music embodies great diversity, from the unique rhythms of African drumming to the melodious tune of Chinese Guzheng.Your passion also inspires me to explore more of the world’s music and impresses on me the power music holds in connecting people around the world.
Thanks again and I’m looking forward to attending more of your lectures and learning from your expertise.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua

(2024·武汉模拟)At that time, I worked where my children attended school. It felt more like a volunteer position considering my low income, but it helped a little.I had no education beyond high school, no special skills or training. My husband, Jim, had never wanted me to work outside the home.He wanted me to be with our children.Great idea in theory, but my reality was telling me I needed to do more, be more.
When I enrolled in classes at our local community college, my husband argued that I was wasting my time and was needed at home. His words hurt me, but I argued that life was uncertain and I needed to be prepared for the worst. In truth, I was terrified he was right about wasting my time, but I just had to take the chance.
I had not been a smart student.Growing up, my brothers and I would bring our report cards home from school and dutifully place them in our parents’ hands.Dad would take my brothers’ reports and go over every grade carefully, discussing what the boys needed to do to make the best of their education in preparation for their future. When he looked at my report card, he checked to make sure I was passing everything and then wordlessly handed it back to me.
He always told me that I wasn’t going to go to college. It would be a waste, and there weren’t enough resources to go around.
However, as I began classes at the ripe old age of thirty-four, I discovered that I was indeed smart enough and I could perform excellently.I had something to prove.I needed to know that I was an intelligent, capable individual.
I loved learning.I also wanted to contribute in a bigger way, not only to my family but also to the community beyond.I wanted to teach.I wanted to continue and reach that goal. And I realized that I wanted to prove my father wrong.
注意:1.续写词数应为150个左右;
2.请按如下格式作答。
Moved by my passion for learning, Jim eventually threw his full support behind me.
When I walked across that stage and received my diploma, I felt like I could fly.
参考范文:
Moved by my passion for learning, Jim eventually threw his full support behind me.He became the single parent while I concentrated on my textbooks and labored to perfect an essay. As a matter of fact, he did almost all the housework, including cooking, washing, and taking care of our children.Needless to say, it was his constant encouragement and unconditional support that made it possible for me to persist in pursuing my dream until I succeeded.
When I walked across that stage and received my diploma, I felt like I could fly.I looked out at the crowd and saw my husband smiling at me with satisfaction. He was clearly proud of my accomplishment.Returning to school had been a risk.It could have proven my worst fears: I was not smart enough, good enough, or valuable enough. However, I seized the chance to find out who I could be and what I could do.This experience proved that we never know what we can do until we try.More importantly, it reminded me that it is I who am responsible for my life as well as my fate.
