1.整体设计思路、指导依据说明
《普通高中英语课程标准》强调在培养学生的语言知识、语言技能、情感态度、学习策略和文化意识这五个技能目标的基础上发展学生综合运用语言的能力,同时,还要注重提高学生用英语获取信息、处理信息、分析问题和解决问题的能力,以及用英语进行思维和表达的能力。因此,本节课将结合任务型教学的模式和广东高考听说考试的模式来完成整个教学。在设计本课时,为了帮助学生了解野生动物濒临灭绝的原因、把握解决措施和提高学生的学科综合能力,我适当借助多媒体教学设备,采用创设情境、引导探究等教学方法,通过小组讨论、个别演讲、集体宣誓等教学形式,为学生提供自主学习、相互交流、自我表现和自我发展的空间,充分发挥他们的学习主动性,让学生更好地通过表达、沟通、协商多种语言活动来完成教学任务,达到预期的教学目标。
2.教学背景分析
教学内容分析:
本教材《普通高中课程标准实验教科书》由《英语课程教材研究所》编委会编,人民教育出版社出版,经全国中小学教材审定委员会2007年审查通过。本课是必修2中第四单元的第五课时。
本单元的中心话题是“野生动物保护”。主要探讨濒临灭绝的野生动物的生存现状;我们要学会如何保护野生动物以及要从已经灭绝的动物中吸取哪些教训从而促进我们保护野生动物的意识。本课时设计取材于该单元Using Language中的Listening and speaking (page30),授课教师以“自主学习,合作探究,精讲解释疑,训练检测”为指导思想,对教材内容进行了适量增删和优化整合,主要围绕“What should we do to protect endangered animals?”进行展开,旨在通过听说教学使学生经过思考、学习,认识到野生动物濒临灭绝的原因和它所带来的种种后果。教学过程主要通过小组讨论——个人演讲——集体宣誓等形式让学生更好地联系自己的生活习惯,树立“保护野生动物,从我做起”的主人翁意识。引导学生运用所学语言、句式来表达自己对这些现象的看法,并能运用所学知识就如何保护野生动物的问题进行演讲,培养他们阐述自己观点的表达能力。
学生情况分析:
我授课的班级为岭南师范学院附属中学高一年级的学生,大部分学生经过初中和高一阶段对英语的学习,具备一定的英语语言运用能力,为高二的英语学习打下了较好的基础。
教学目标分析
1.语言知识目标: 能掌握与野生动物话题相关的常用词汇与表达方式。
2.语言技能目标:能从听说视频中提炼有效信息进行问答训练,并养成模仿朗读的习惯;能用英语做演讲,提高英语口头表达和语言组织能力。
3.学习策略目标:运用所学的相关词汇和句式来做演讲。
4.情感态度目标:帮助学生了解野生动物濒临灭绝的原因及其解决措施,让学生更多地联系自己的生活习惯,树立从自身做起倡导保护野生动物的意识。
4.教学重点、难点分析
教学重点:了解野生动物濒临灭绝的原因及其解决措施,学习有关保护野生动物的词汇和句式,帮助学生树立“保护野生动物人人有责”的主人翁意识。
教学难点:学生能够利用所学知识,敢于表达自己观点,能用英语演讲。

Step 1 Lead-in:
1) Before the class, T plays a video, in which people get on well with animals to arouse students’ interest.
2) T talks with Ss freely about her trip to Hainan’s wildlife reserve with her daughter, and shows some lovely photos to students, and then presents her daughter’s question: “why is there only an elephant in such a large place?”, which can introduce the topic:

教师与学生自由地交流,并呈现自己和家人在海南野生动植物与动物合影的照片。生动的图片能够很好地使学生对动物产生喜爱之心,然后以女儿的问题“why is there only an elephant in such a large place?”导入话题。教师再呈现图片让学生,激发他们思考野生动物濒临灭绝的原因,由此导入主题。
Step 2 listen to the dodo’s story
Task2 Ask the questions and answer them with partners.
角色:Tom and Mary 情景:Tom向Mary询问有关渡渡鸟的信息。

4.渡渡鸟最后发生了什么?
教师将教材听力材料的选择题改为与高考听说模式的模仿朗读和角色扮演。1.观看听说视频,使学生深刻体会到渡渡鸟永远退出历史舞台的悲哀和震撼,从而进一步意识到野生动物保护的重要性和紧迫性。2.通过全班朗读文本,使学生能够正确理解内容,提炼信息,为下文的角色扮演提供语言输出信息。3.深化听力内容,学生以pair work的形式对文本进行角色扮演,询问有关渡渡鸟的信息,提高学生听力获取信息的能力和语言表达能力,这样适当降低了听说练习的难度,保护了学生学习的积极性。
Step 3 Speaking
1)Make a list of animals which are in danger of dying out
结合现实组织学生列举正在濒临灭绝的动物,让学生说说藏羚羊的现存情况。
2)Watch a movie KeKeXiLi
After watching the movie KeKeXiLi, T ask students a few questions:
What happened to the antelopes in the movie?
How do you feel?
What can we do to protect them?
渡渡鸟是已经灭绝的物种,而电影里的藏羚羊是正在濒临灭绝的动物;渡渡鸟的听力故事为“虚”,而观看《可可西里》电影为“实”,两种不同的视频题材的安排打开了学生的多种感官通道,尤其是《可可西里》藏羚羊被就地“扒皮”的画面,震撼了观众。学生深刻意识到人类疯狂的掠杀行为是野生动物濒临灭绝的重要原因,从而触动学生要保护野生动物的决心和思考如何去保护濒临灭绝的动物,为其后的讨论环节做准备。
Task 3 Discussion
What should we do to protect the endangered animals?
Get students speak out their opinion in competition, then T summarizes the solutions, and ask students to read them together.
合作学习,充实词汇、句式。教师创设语言运用的真实情景,要求学生开展小组讨论“如何保护野生动物”,然后以抢答汇报的形式呈现。最后全班齐读老师所总结的解决措施,为学生的下文的口头演讲提供语言输出信息。

个人汇报演讲,展示合作成果,既锻炼了英语口语,又展现了个性。通过演讲提高学生的英语口头表达和语言组织能力,让学生呼吁他人一起来关爱和保护野生动物,极大地增强学生保护野生动物的意识。
Step 4 Swearing
After making the speech by turns, teacher plays another video, which is about the famous people take part in protecting the wildlife to appeal to more people to join them.
Those who promise to protect the wildlife should stand up to swear so that they have strong sense to protect the environment.
播放名人参与并呼吁保护野生动物的音乐相册渲染了整堂课的气氛,激发学生积极参与的决心。
通过全班集体宣誓,渲染了整堂课的气氛,升华了本节课的主题,从而帮助学生树立“保护野生动物,从我做起”的主人翁意识。
Step 5 Summary
Only if we can understand can we care.
Only if we care will we help.
Only if we help shall all the life be hopeful.
通过教师声情并茂地朗诵Jane Goodle的话结束本节课的内容,呼吁学生树立保护野生动物从自我做起的意识。
Step 6 Homework

1、本课是一节听说课,教学思路清晰,导入自然,教学活动的实施由浅入深,层层深入,重难点突出,整个过程教学很流畅,注重了让学生在特定的情景中积极参与语言实践,效果良好。
2、整堂课设计包含了听、说活动, 把课本和实际相联系起来,通过小组讨论——个人演讲——集体宣誓等形式可以让学生更好地联系自己的生活习惯,树立“保护野生动物,从我做起”的主人翁意识。
3、活动的开展学生参与面比较广,关注到个体差异,特别是分组朗读,小组讨论和个人演讲,充分调动学生积极性,让学生自主进行语言的表达。整体上完成了教学任务,达到了预期的教学目标。

I felt so angry that I rushed out of my hiding place and stared at him. Of course, he killed me too. After that there were no more dodos in the world.
