听力材料:
(Text 1)
W:I don’t understand how you got a ticket. I thought you were a
careful driver.
M:I usually am, but I thought I could get through the crossing before
the lights turned red. I was driving too fast so I hit a car.
(Text 2)
W:Can you tell me how much it costs to repair the TV set?
M:Well, the set is very old. It’ll cost about 100 pounds. However,
a new one may cost you 120 pounds more or less. So it’s not worth
repairing.
(Text 3)
W:How many people are they interviewing?
M:They interviewed sixteen the first time, and now four of us were
chosen to go back for the second interview.
W:I hope it goes well. Good luck. I hope you can get the job.
(Text 4)
M:The guests are leaving for New York today on the 11 o’clock flight.
It’s too late. So there will be no bus then. We need someone to get them
to the airport on time.
W:I’d be happy to, but my car is under repair now.
M:In that case, we have to call a taxi.
(Text 5)
W:Mary and I are going to the concert. Do you want to come, too?
M:Sorry, but I’m meeting Jane. She’s writing an article and she has
asked me to help collect materials for it.
W:An article? About what?
M:Oh, just old churches. Anyway, I’ll see her at the library at half
past two.
(Text 6)
W:Sunshine Hotel, may I help you?
M:Yes, I’m phoning up because I have booked a room for an overseas
visitor who won’t be able to come now and so I’ll have to cancel it,
I’m afraid.
W:What is the name, please?
M:It was a double room booked in the name of Dr. R. Sun from January
14th, for a week.
W:Ah, yes, I’ve got it. And now you want to change the booking,
do you?
M:I wish I could, but it now appears that he won’t be able to come at
all.
W:Well, sir, I’ll cancel it then. I hope we can help you some other
time.
(Text 7)
W:Dr. Carter’s Office.
M:I’d like to make an appointment with Dr. Carter, please.
W:Okay. Could I have your name please?
M:Yes. My name is Ronald Schuller.
W:And may I ask who referred you to our office?
M:Uh, I drove past your office yesterday and I saw your number.
W:Okay. How about the day after tomorrow on Wednesday at 4
o’clock?
M:Uh. Do you happen to have an opening in the morning? I usually
pick up my kids from school around that time.
W:Okay. How about Tuesday or Thursday at 8:00 am?
M:Can it be earlier, like 7:30?
W:No. I’m sorry.
M:Well, in that case, Thursday would be fine.
(Text 8)
W:Look! Here is the information about the evening courses.
M:Flower arranging. That’s a real course? Why would someone want
to do that?
W:You watch TV for 3 hours every Saturday and many people find that
boring too.
M:OK, relax. Let’s see what else is there.
W:Photography. That looks interesting.
M:But look at the price. I don’t think I can afford it. Web design is
pretty cheap. What do you think?
W:I don’t want to work on the computer in the evening.
M:Hey, look, how about Indian cooking? It starts this week. A little
bit expensive.
W:You know how much I love Indian food. I’ll call them tomorrow to
see if they want new students.
M:OK.
(Text 9)
W:Hey, Jack. Are you going to the party in town tonight?
M:No, I’d better stay at home.
W:Why? It is your favourite.
M:Well ... no.
W:Jack, are you yourself? What has happened? Are you having a
fever?
M:Not really. It’s all because of my professor. We were asked to turn
in a paper on Friday morning, but I haven’t started writing even a single
word.
W:Why didn’t you write it?
M:I was very busy these days. I had been preparing for my English exam
all the time, so I had no time.
W:Oh, come on. I think you should have a good rest. Let’s enjoy
this free Wednesday night.
M:Anne, listen, I really can’t.
W:Are you serious?
M:Yes, you know it means a lot to me.
W:OK, I understand. I will go by myself. Could you lend me your
car, please?
M:But you don’t have a driver’s license.
W:Who cares?
M:Well, well, Anne. I am going to drive you there and you can call a
taxi when the party is over.
W:All right.
(Text 10)
M:What would your life be like if you were Albert Einstein? What
clothes would be in your wardrobe if you were Madonna? Well now you
can discover the answer to all these questions at the Fame Hotel in
California.
When you enter the room, you enter the life of a famous person.
The owner of the hotel has tried to fill the room with objects, clothes,
even food that he thinks the stars would have liked. Madonna’s wardrobe
is full of beautiful white dresses; Albert Einstein doesn’t have any socks
in his wardrobe because he never wore them! I spoke to one guest staying
in the Elvis Presley room. “I love this hotel,” he said to me. “I
wanted to know what Elvis Presley would eat for breakfast and now I
know.” That guest eats pancakes and strawberry ice cream every
morning, just as Elvis liked to do.
On the next table, the Einstein room’s guest is eating cabbage soup!
The company plans to open another Fame Hotel in New York next year and
there are plans to expand into Europe too. I look forward to staying in the
Winston Churchill suite in London!

  (2025·重庆一中高二期末)In October 2024, 3-year-old Journey
Castillo completed a quest to visit all 63 of America’s national parks. Her
parents, Eric and Valerie Castillo, said she is likely the youngest person
to reach that milestone.
The family, from San Antonio, Texas, ended their travels with a
trip to Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska.“Mission
complete,” they wrote on Instagram.“After three years of adventure,
countless logistics work and not giving up, we could not be more proud
to share the conclusion of our quest.” Journey hasn’t been officially
verified as the youngest traveler to visit all 63 parks. But more important
than the title, her parents say, is the experience.
“Our thing was: ‘Let’s ... inspire in Journey a passion for
nature, inspire in her that she can handle the strenuous parts of the
traveling: the environments, the weather changes, different
cultures.’” Valerie Castillo told The Guardian’s Ramon Antonio
Vargas.
Before she could walk, Journey Castillo’s parents set out to visit
every national park in the U. S. They hiked up Pikes Peak and explored
Rocky Mountain National Park, all with an infant in tow.As far as they
could tell, Journey seemed to enjoy herself.
“We could see her little eyes open and take it all in,” Valerie
Castillo told the San Antonio Express-News last year.“She was so
aware, even being a few days old. She’s adapted so well.”
They then ventured to Grand Canyon National Park — and decided to
keep going. They set a goal of visiting 21 parks by Journey’s first
birthday, then 42 parks by her second birthday.Eventually, they
decided to go for all 63 parks. The family has been documenting every step
of the way on Instagram and their website, Journey Go Explore.
Reaching the last few parks on their list — all in Alaska — required
lots of logistical management, including renting flights, ferry rides,
and even special permission from the National Park Service to visit a
seasonally closed park.Though their visit was challenging at times, the
Castillos say it helped their daughter develop confidence.Journey walks
fearlessly through airports and happily greets park rangers.“When she’s
out at these parks, she comes to life, and her personality brightens
up,” Eric Castillo said.

The Disneyland parks are full of amusements, but they are also
small cities that deal with deliveries, rubbish, and groups of
visitors.People need to move from one place to another; they have to
refuel and relax. To meet these requirements, the parks are well-equipped
in reality. For example, Disneyland Park in California has a reliable
transport system. In Walt Disney World in Florida, dustbins are spaced 30
feet apart, and all of them are emptied through underground tubes.
None of this happened by accident.Walt Disney first had his idea for
a play land in 1937.He first imagined the park’s buildings in a small
size.He spent years collecting ideas by visiting other places. He studied
Beverly Park in Los Angeles, including rebuilt historic villages. He
visited Colonial Williamsburg, where employees dressed up and walked
around. Then he organised a team of engineers and designers to plan and
build a small world he called Disneyland.Walt Disney had blueprints (蓝
图) drawn up, and tried to get the permission to break ground (破土动
工).
In 1953, he bought some land in Anaheim. Some designers thought
it was too far, but Disney went ahead. It was like building a new
city.Pipes had to be fixed.Railway track had to be laid around.Disney
chose the hub-and-spoke (轴辐式的) street pattern that many cities
have.“I want Disneyland to be a place where you can’t get lost,” he
said.Designers and architects also diagrammed the rides and made
models, while artists painted the background.
Finally in July 1955, the visitors came.If they picked up maps,
they could see the results of years’ planning: the shops and
restaurants, the square, and the streets. The magic city had finally
jumped off the drawing board and come into real life.

第二节(满分25分)
  阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构
成一篇完整的短文。
In a small town, there was a community talent show held every year
in the local park. The event was a highlight for many, with performances
from various local talents.Among the audience was a woman named
Emily, a kind-hearted local librarian, along with her 12-year-old
daughter Anna. Both of their eyes were filled with excitement.
As the show began, Emily and her daughter watched a young girl in
amazement, about eight, confidently sing a song. Her voice was
surprisingly powerful for her small body. Then a group of teenagers
followed.Their hip-hop dance routine was full of energy, leading to
cheers from the crowd. There was even an elderly gentleman who
performed a series of magic tricks. However, as the sun began to set,
many in the audience grew tired and the applause (掌声) after each act
became less enthusiastic (热情的).
Then came the turn of a young boy, around ten years old,
nervously holding his violin. As he started playing, it was clear that he
was a beginner. His notes were shaky and he missed a few beats. The
audience, already tired, responded with only a little polite
applause.Emily noticed the boy’s frustrated face as he finished his
performance.
It was at this moment that Emily recalled a powerful memory from
her own childhood—the time when she had stood on a similar stage, her
voice trembling (颤抖) through a song. But the kindness she had
received from a stranger in the audience pushed her to carry on.Drawing
from the lesson she had learned from the past experience, Emily stood
up, clapping loudly and cheering for the boy.“Great job! Keep
practicing, and you’re doing wonderfully!”she called out.Her
enthusiasm inspired other members of the audience to join in the
applause, their claps growing louder and more sincere.
注意:1.续写词数应为150个左右;2.请按如下格式作答。
Anna looked up at her mother, surprised by her actions.

Since that day, Anna has been carrying her mother’s lesson with
her.
参考范文:
Anna looked up at her mother, surprised by her actions.“Mom,
why did you do that?”she asked curiously.Emily smiled and said that
the boy was brave enough to share his talent with them. She thought it’s
important to encourage and support each other, especially when someone
is just starting out and that people can never know how much a simple act
of kindness can mean to someone.Anna nodded thoughtfully, watching
as the young violinist left the stage with a shy but proud smile.
Since that day, Anna has been carrying her mother’s lesson with
her.She found herself looking at situations differently, seizing
opportunities to offer support and kindness. In school, when classmates
struggled or felt nervous, Anna was there with a word of
encouragement, remembering her mother’s example at the talent
show. She realized that these small acts of kindness didn’t just help
others, and that they made herself feel good too.Anna hoped that just
like her mother, she could be a source of initiative and encouragement in
someone else’s life.
