表语从句

一、概念
在主从复合句中用作表语的从句叫作表语从句。它常位于系动词之
后,用来说明主语是什么或怎么样。
二、表语从句的引导词
1. 从属连词引导的表语从句
【先感悟】
①The good news is that we Chinese are warm and friendly, so you
needn’t worry too much about Chinese customs. (建议信)
②The most important thing is that we individuals should raise our
awareness of environmental protection.
③The question is whether your headteacher will agree with what you said.

【会发现】
(1)that引导表语从句,在句中无意义,不充当 ,
省略;
(2)whether引导表语从句,不充当句子成分,意为“是否”,
与if互换;
(3)because, as if/though等引导表语从句,从句表示的情况发生的
可能性较小时常用 。

连接副词where,when,why,how引导表语从句,且在从句中充当地
点、时间、原因、方式状语成分。
(1)where引导表语从句,在从句中作地点状语,意为“在那个地
方”。
(2)how引导表语从句,在从句中作方式状语,意为“如何,怎么”。
(3)when引导表语从句,在从句中作时间状语,意为“何时”。
(4)why引导表语从句,在从句中作原因状语,意为“为什么”。

三、表语从句注意事项
1. why和because引导的表语从句的区别
【先感悟】
①He always finds fault with me and that’s why I get angry with him.

(1)because引导表语从句时强调 ;
(2)why引导表语从句时强调 ;
原因

在表语从句中,表示间接的命令、要求、请求、建议、决定等,主句
中的主语通常是:advice, suggestion, proposal, request, order,
desire, demand等,从句谓语形式是“should+动词原形”(should可以
省略)。
