1. 语法一致原则
语法一致表示谓语动词与主语在单、复数形式上保持一致。
主语 谓语 例句
单数名词、不可数名词 单数 Music makes me feel relaxed.
动词不定式短语、动名词短语或从句 To finish homework on time is a good habit.
主语 谓语 例句
the number of+可数名词复数 单数 The number of students in our class is 30.
one of+可数名词复数 One of my uncles works in a hospital as a doctor.
a number of+可数名词复数 复数 A number of colorful kites fly high in the sky.
both...and...连接两个名词 Both Nancy and John are in Grade 9.
主语 谓语 例句
主语后有with, together with, along with, except, but, as well as等词或结构 取决于主语的“数” Everyone except Tom is in the classroom.
由“a lot of, lots of, plenty of + 名词”构成的短语 取决于短语 后名词的数 Plenty of birds fly back to the park in spring.
2. 意义一致原则
意义一致就是概念一致,即谓语动词的形式要和主语所表达的概念一致。
主语 谓语 例句
集体名词(如:family/ class/team/group/people/police等) 取决于主语的意义 Mark’s family lives in a small town.→表达整体概念时,谓语动词用单数形式
My family are all baseball fans.→指集体中的成员时,谓语动词用复数形式
主语 谓语 例句
the+姓氏名词复数,表示一家人或夫妇 复数 The Browns live in a small village.
the+形容词,表示一类人 The old are taken good care of in this community.
表示重量、度量、时间、长度、价格、数学运算等词或短语 单数 Ten minutes is left before the class begins.
3. 就近一致原则
就近一致就是谓语动词和靠近它的主语在“人称、数”上保持一致,又叫邻近原则。
主语/句式 谓语 例句
There be...和Here be...两个句式中 谓语动词和离它最近的那个主语在人称和数上保持一致 There are two books and a pen on the desk.
Either... or...; Neither ... nor ...; Not only...but also...等连接两个并列主语 Either Lily or Lucy is going to the party.
