Word came that American singer and songwriter Bob Dylan won the NobelLiterature
Prize. Some people were excited to see the news. Author Salman Rushdie called Bob a
“great choice” and congratulated Bob on Twitter. Others were not sure whether it was
suitable for a famous musician to win a literature prize for his work.
Bob was born in 1941 in the Midwestern U.S. state of Minnesota and was raised in a
Jewish middle-class family. Bob taught himself to play the guitar, harmonica and piano.
He first started performing in the late 1950s in coffee shops in his home state.
高二英语试题第 4 页(共 12 页)
Bob moved to New York City in 1959 and began to write his own music. Some
ofBob's best- known works were from the 1960s. Many of his songs became connected
to the anti- Vietnam war and civil rights movements, including his 1963 song Blowin'in
the Wind. Some of his other famous songs included Like a Rolling Stone from
1965,Knockin' on Heaven's Door from 1973, and Tangled Up in Blue from 1975. The
music publication Rolling Stone launched a list of the“100 Greatest Bob Dylan Songs”
in honor of his 75th birthday. It considered Like a Rolling Stone Bob's best song.
In2011 the magazine also ranked the song number one on its list of the 500 greatest
songs of all time.
Bob was chosen“for having created new poetic expressions within the
greatAmerican song tradition”. The Swedish Academy said,“It is perfectly fine to read
BobDylan's works as poetry.” People unfamiliar with Bob's work were advised to listen
to his album (专 辑 ) blonde on blonde. It came out in 1966. The album was an

Glaciers store amounts of important climate data within their frozen rivers of snow
and ice. But many of the world's 220,000 glaciers are under threat from global warming,
melting(融化) at an alarming rate.
In 2024, a UN research team went to harvest ice cores (核) from the glacier in the
Alps. They wanted to add to test cores drilled just two years earlier, which showed clear
chemical evidence of past climate. But when they got there, the glacier had melted so
much that information trapped in the ice was lost. And this is a process
高二英语试题第 5 页(共 12 页)
happening in glaciers worldwide. Evidence showed melt rates were more than
30%higher between 2020 and 2024 than 15 years earlier.
Records show that almost all of the world's glaciers are thinning out. Among the
fastest melting glaciers are those in the Alps, but half the world's glacial loss is from the
US and Canada, and that ice core data could be lost forever. And the oldest continuous
ice records are up to 130,000 years in Greenland and 800,000 years inAntarctica, where
ice cores more than two miles in length have been taken out.
What those cores reveal are changing levels of greenhouse gases like CO2 over the
last 400,000 years and clues to global warming. But it is not just atmospheric make- up
or events like volcanic eruptions that are recorded in ice cores. Scientists have found
viruses nearly 15,000 years old in samples (样本) from a Tibetan glacier.Genetic codes
for 33 viruses, 28 of them unknown to science, were discovered, and researchers hope to
find out more about how viruses have advanced and how they might respond to climate
change.
Measures are being taken to preserve this type of data and increase our
understanding of Earth's climate and environment. Perhaps ice- covered areas of theAlps
and the Andes will disappear by the end of this century. But probably the most
threatening signals of glacial loss come from places like Greenland and Antarctica, where
ice melt raises global sea levels.
28. Why did a UN research team go to the Alps in 2024
A. To put back cores drilled years earlier.
B. To trap scientific information in the ice.
C. To remove evidence of past climate.
D. To collect ice cores from the glacier.
29. What does the underlined phrase“thinning out” mean
A. Of poor quality. B. Growing much closer.
C. Less in amount. D. Having more layers.
30. What does paragraph 4 focus on
A. Scientific data in ice cores. B. Main cause of global warming.
C. Changing levels of greenhouses. D. Plenty of samples of viruses.
31. Which places probably show the most alarming signs of glacier loss
A. The Alps and the US. B. The Andes and Canada.
C. Greenland and Antarctica. D. Tibetan and the Alps.

Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh are pioneering a novel approach to
monitoring blood pressure by improving the smartphones we use every day.
Instead of developing a new medical tool to monitor blood pressure, Mukkamala and
his team decided to take advantage of resources included in most phones, such as front
cameras and touch sensors, to create an app that can assess a person’s pulse pressure. To
take a measurement, users only need to raise their hands while holding their smartphones.
A critical aspect of the project was determining how to copy the results of a typical
blood pressure assessment using only a smartphone, which the team accomplished by
employing a familiar force: gravity.“Because of gravity, there’s a pressure change in your
thumb (拇指) when you raise your hands up. Using the phone’s accelerometer (加速器),
you’ re able to change that into the relative change in pressure.” Mukkamala noted.By
pairing this hand-raising motion with guided thumb button on the smartphone, the team
was able to calculate each participant’s blood pressure.
High blood pressure affects more than 4 billion adults worldwide and is the leading
risk factor for cardiovascular disease, the top cause of death globally. This innovation is
promising for managing high blood pressure. It could bring blood pressure monitoring
software to any smartphone owner, enabling constant self-monitoring and easy sharing of
results with healthcare providers. It would be especially useful in low-income settings
where people may not have access to blood pressure tools. Being able to measure blood
pressure more frequently would allow an individual to track any significant changes in
blood pressure and manage their conditions with that knowledge.
Now Mukkamala’s team is trying to improve smartphone blood- pressure
monitoring so that it can reach those who need it.“The research is here—— we just need
some help making the technology better.” Mukkamala said.“This is the first method of its
kind, and even better, it’s something that we can start practising right now.”
32. What do users need to do to make a measurement
A. Buy a new smartphone.
B. Fix a new medical tool.
C. Connect sensors and create apps.
D. Hold smartphones and raise hands.

34. What kind of help does Mukkamala's team need
A. Medical knowledge. B. Improved technology.
C. Financial support. D. More resources.
35. Which can be a suitable title
A. A New App Helps to Monitor Blood Pressure
B. Mukkamala and His Team's New Invention

Flowers on the Bus
We were a crowd of people who took the same bus every day that summer.During
the early ride from the suburb, we sat with our collars up to our ears, cheerless and
silent. There was a small gray man who took the bus to the centre for senior citizens
every morning. He sat down alone behind the driver. No one ever paid very much
attention to him.
Then one day he said good morning to the driver. The driver nodded. He smiled
down the bus before taking his seat. The next day, the old man boarded the bus
energetically, smiled and said in a loud voice,“And a very good morning to you all!”
Some of us looked up, amazed, and whispered“Good morning” in reply.
高二英语试题第 11 页(共 12 页)
One morning he had a bunch of wild flowers in his hand. The driver turned around
and asked smilingly, “Charlie, for your wife ” He nodded shyly and smiled back. Then he
bowed and waved the flowers before he sat down.
The following weeks, our friend was dressed in a nice old suit and a wide out-of-date
tie. The thin hair had been carefully combed. He said good morning to us every day and we
gradually began to nod. From then on, the early bus was not the same again. Every
morning, Charlie would always bring a flower. Some of us began bringing him flowers for
his bouquet (花束). We began to talk to each other, and shared the newspaper. The bus was
filled with warm laughter instead of previous silence.
The summer went by, and autumn came in when one morning Charlie wasn't waiting
at his usual stop. When he wasn't there the next day and the day after that,we started
wondering if he was sick. Three days passed before we asked the senior center staff—— his
wife had died at the weekend.
注意:
1.续写词数应为 150 左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
The next Monday Charlie waited again at the bus stop.
I held out a sunflower and broke the silence.

第二节(满分 15 分)
Possible versions
Version1:
Recently, there is a heated discussion about whether prepared dishes should be introduced into
our school canteen. I hold the view that our school canteen can provide prepared dishes.
Firstly, prepared dishes can greatly shorten the time to make meals, so we don't have to wait in
long lines during busy meal times. Secondly, prepared dishes have many different flavors to meet
students' different tastes, which can be great additions to meal choices if the school can ensure their
quality.
All in all, prepared dishes bring convenience and efficiency. I hope the school canteen can
offer us more choices by introducing prepared dishes.
Version2:
Recently, there is a heated discussion about whether prepared dishes should be introduced into
our school canteen. I think it's unwise for our school canteen to provide prepared dishes.
To begin with, prepared dishes may contain too much oil, sugar and salt, which may do harm
to our health. Secondly, they are not as fresh as on- site cooked food and may lose nutrients during
long storage and transportation. What's more, they are often packed in plastic containers, posing a

One possible version
The next Monday Charlie waited again at the bus stop. He seemed to become smaller and
grayer, hair thinner and no tie. When he struggled onto the bus, he bit his lips soundlessly, his face
pale and his eyes red. His body shook with every breath, as if his heart was breaking into pieces.
Atotal silence enveloped the bus. Even a pin drop could be heard. All of us, who he had made such
an impression on that summer, looked at him with a mixture of sadness and concern, wild flowers
in hands.(83w)
I held out a sunflower and broke the silence. “For your wife,” I said in a soft voice, “we know
what you' re going on, but you needn't carry that sorrow all alone.” The passengers around nodded
in agreement. A young man patted his shoulder lightly. Then, a graceful lady gently handed him a
pack of tissue. One by one, other passengers passed him more wildflowers with sympathy. By the
