Ⅰ.阅读理解
A
(2024·广州番禺高一开学统考)Vincent Willem van Gogh is a great Dutch painter. In 2017, one of his paintings was sold for $81 million. 2021 seemed to be Vincent Willem van Gogh's year. There were at least five different exhibits in nearly 40 U.S. cities regarding his works. It's very surprising to know he sold only one painting in his lifetime, for only little profit (利润). How did this now-famous painter fail to escape attention after his death It was probably thanks to a woman.
[过能力 综合提升]
Six months after Van Gogh died, his beloved brother Theo passed away, who had expected to make his brother's works well -known. Fortunately, Theo's wife Johanna van Gogh -Bonger, as an English teacher at two different girls' schools before her marriage, was left with their son and a sizable art collection. She decided to help Theo's wishes come true. “During her lifetime, she devoted herself to raising awareness of Vincent's art and letters,” says Luijten, author of Johanna's lifetime story.
Johanna tried all her best to improve Van Gogh's name. To do this, she chose some of his works to sell and encouraged writers and art critics to write about his paintings though she met with frequent refusal. Johanna didn't lose heart. She lent some pieces to well -known museums and organized countless exhibitions and sales. “One of Johanna's major achievements was the organization of an exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam in 1905, where she collected no less
than 484 of Van Gogh's works. A Van Gogh exhibition of this size would never again be matched,” Luijten explains. Another particular move happened in 1914 when Johanna published Van Gogh's letters. Theo had kept hundreds of letters. “This was of great importance, as following the publication of the letters, the appreciation of Van Gogh as an artist increased further,” says Luijten.
“There's little doubt that although Van Gogh was great, he wouldn't be remembered to the level seen today without the influence of Johanna,” says Luijten.

Every year in May, art galleries and museums prepare shows to honor Leonardo Da Vinci, who died in France on May 2,1519.He is remembered as one of the greatest artists and creative thinkers of all time. His most famous paintings are Mona Lisa and The Last Supper.
Recently, researchers have been studying a painting—Landscape 8P which, they think, is Da Vinci's earliest- known artwork. They used special lighting to study the artwork and discovered there were two images (图像), not one. One drawing is on the back of the piece, which dates back to August 5, 1473.
The drawing on the front was painted when Leonardo was 21 years old. It shows a river valley and a castle outside the city of Florence. There is little left of the drawing on the back, perhaps because it was wiped off. Only a bridge over a river can be seen. But there is writing on both sides.
The writing on the front gives the date and goes from right to left. Some people would call this “Mirror- writing”. It's a way Leonardo often wrote in his notebooks. The writing on the back goes from left to right and tells about an agreement, probably to produce a work of art.
Cecilia Frosinini is an art historian. She said, “Leonardo was born left handed, but was taught to write with his right hand from a very young age. By looking at his writings, including from this drawing, we can see his right -handed handwriting is educated and well done.”
Experts compared the two handwriting samples and said they were both made by Leonardo. They show he could write well using his left hand or his right hand.
The drawing is known as Landscape 8P from its number in an art list. It will be part of an exhibit at Italy's Uffizi Gallery. The gallery director, Eike Schmidt, said by studying the drawing researchers gave us a new way of looking at Leonardo's drawing technique and his abilities in writing.

Talk with your children about their work. 1.___________________
_______________________________ When we ask “What is it?”, we are saying that it should look like something we'd recognize. Instead, ask open -ended questions like “Tell me about your picture.” You can also describe specific things your children are doing by saying things such as, “You're making short lines. I see you are using red, green and blue.”
D.It's often hard to interpret children's drawings.
Do what your children do. Instead of drawing your own picture, sit down with your children and do their actions.2._________________
__________________________________ If your children concentrate on what you are drawing or how “good” your picture is, they are less likely to be imaginative and creative on their own.
G.Make big or small lines, or practice drawing circles.
3._________________________________ Instead of sitting down with a specific plan or outcome in mind, let your children explore, experiment and use their imaginations. They might make a big mess or change their mind several times—these are all part of the creative process.
B.Keep the process open -ended.
Support and don't lead. Have you ever noticed that activities become much less fun when you are told by someone else?4.________________________________ So let them decide what materials they want to use and how and when to use them. Maybe they want to peel (剥) the paper off a crayon and use it lengthwise on the paper, instead of writing with the tip.
