When you step onto the wide, clean roads of Starlight Village, you will see rows of new houses, tall trees and beautiful flowers. Life in Starlight Village is very comfortable, and people are happy to live here.
However, 40 years ago, the roads here were narrow and muddy, and some of the houses were old and broken. There was often rubbish lying in the streets.

Starlight Village: a rising star
When you step onto the wide, clean roads of Starlight Village, you will see rows of new houses, tall trees and beautiful flowers. Life in Starlight Village is very comfortable, and people are happy to live here.
However, 40 years ago, the roads here were narrow and muddy, and some of the houses were old and broken. There was often rubbish lying in the streets.
Li Ling, a local villager, said, “Thanks to the government’s support, the roads in the village have improved a lot in recent years. The lives of local people are better than before. Most families have built beautiful houses, and we feel hopeful about the future.”

Great Changes in My Hometown
Many changes has taken place in my hometown during the last 20 years. It have turned into a modern place.
In the past, there were only old, small houses in the village, but now most families lives in tall, bright houses. The streets were dirty and narrow before, but today they are wide, clean and filled with colorful flowers.
Back then, there were no buses in the town, but today we can take buses to any part of the area easily. Years ago, people walked or rode bikes to go to the market. Today, however, they can drive their own cars or take taxis - it only takes 10 minutes to get there.
Moreover, most families had no TVs or phones years ago. They spent evenings talking with neighbors. Now, living in my hometown is comfortable and convenient: every home has smart TVs and mobile phones, and we can even shop online at any time.
Thanks to the government’s support, our life have become much better. I feel hopeful about my hometown’s future - it will be becoming more beautiful.

Great Changes in My Hometown
Many changes was taken place in my hometown over the past 30 years. It become a lively and attractive town now.
In the past, there was only a small primary school with few teachers, but now we have a modern middle school and a library with thousands of books. The river were polluted and smelly before, but today it is clean and we can see fish swimming in it.
Back then, people goes to the nearby town to buy clothes and furniture. Today, however, we have several big shopping malls in our town, and we can buy almost everything we need.
Moreover, most villagers doesn't have computers or the Internet ten years ago. They kept in touch with relatives by writing letters. Now, everyone have a smartphone, and we can video call our friends anywhere in the world.
Thanks to the government's efforts, our life were getting better and better. I believe my hometown will to be a wonderful place to live in the future.
