第一节 读后续写三步解题流程
读后续写要求考生在理解一篇不完整的文章的基础上,充分发挥想象力,大胆预测文章后续部分的情节发展,进行合乎逻辑的续写。如果考生不知道原文讲的情节是什么,原文情节已经发展到哪里,续写就无从谈起。考生必须先梳理出原文本的故事情节,才能在延续原文情节的基础上合理构建故事,顺利完成续写任务。考生可以根据实际情景和续写文章的特点利用读后续写三步解题流程来完成续写。
[经典范例]
(2024·新课标Ⅰ/Ⅱ卷)I met Gunter on a cold,wet and unforgettable evening in September.I had planned to fly to Vienna and take a bus to Prague for a conference.Due to a big storm,my flight had been delayed by an hour and a half.I touched down in Vienna just 30 minutes before the departure of the last bus to Prague.The moment I got off the plane,I ran like crazy through the airport building and jumped into the first taxi on the rank without a second thought.
That was when I met Gunter.I told him where I was going,but he said he hadn't heard of the bus station.I thought my pronunciation was the problem,so I explained again more slowly,but he still looked confused.When I was about to give up,Gunter fished out his little phone and rang up a friend.After a heated discussion that lasted for what seemed like a century,Gunter put his phone down and started the car.
Finally,with just two minutes to spare we rolled into the bus station.Thankfully,there was a long queue (队列) still waiting to board the bus.Gunter parked the taxi behind the bus,turned around,and looked at me with a big smile on his face.“We made it,” he said.
Just then I realised that I had zero cash in my wallet.I flashed him an apologetic smile as I pulled out my Portuguese bankcard.He tried it several times,but the card machine just did not play along.A feeling of helplessness washed over me as I saw the bus queue thinning out.
At this moment,Gunter pointed towards the waiting hall of the bus station.There,at the entrance,was a cash machine.I jumped out of the car,made a mad run for the machine,and popped my card in,only to read the message: “Out of order.Sorry.”

(1)语言简洁明了:整体用词较为简单直接,没有过多华丽复杂的词汇,如ran like crazy,jumped into,fished out等表述生动形象且易懂,能让读者快速理解情境。
(2)注重动作描写:通过一系列动作描写来推动情节发展,比如got off,ran,jumped,parked,turned around等,增强了故事的动态感和紧张感。
(3)口语化表达:对话部分较为自然和口语化,符合日常交流的风格,如but he said he hadn't heard of the bus station;we made it等,使读者更容易产生代入感。
第二步:思——构思情节
1.思矛盾冲突
根据情节梳理,不难得出续写中需要解决的问题或困难是:How can I pay the taxi fare for Gunter?How to pay the fare for going to Prague 如何向冈特支付打车费?如何支付前往布拉格的车费?
2.思谋篇布局
(1)由第一段首句内容“我跑回到冈特那里,告诉他这个坏消息。”和第二段首句“四天后,当我回到维也纳时,我按照承诺给冈特打了电话。”可知,第一段可描写作者留下冈特的电话,承诺会还钱给对方,冈特同意,最终作者及时登上了公共汽车并按时参加了会议。为丰富细节,考生可以尝试问自己以下三个问题:
①根据第一段提示句提出的问题:How did Gunter react to the bad news What did he do and say (续写首段的第二句)
②根据第二段提示句提出的问题:What promise did I make How to end the first paragraph?(续写首段的结尾句)
③根据上述的问题提出衔接性的问题:What did Gunter and I do before the bus pulled away with me?(续写首段的中间过渡内容)
(2)由第二段首句内容“四天后,当我回到维也纳时,我按照承诺给冈特打了电话。”可知,第二段可描写作者付费给冈特,并向对方表示感激,两人成了好朋友。为提示语篇及丰富语篇的内容,考生可以再次尝试问自己以下四个问题:
①What did I learn from the special experience?(续写尾段〈整个语篇〉的最后一句)
②What was Gunter's reaction on hearing my voice (续写尾段的第二句)
③How did the whole event end?(故事本身的结束句,也就是续写尾段的倒数第二句)
④What did we say or do when we two met (续写尾段的中间过渡及衔接内容)
第三步:写——续写成篇
在确定了思路和内容之后,续写时,要注意句子结构的多样性,语言的丰富性,并通过句与句之间连接词的正确使用,使上下文连贯。重读所续写的两段内容,核查词汇、句式、语法结构以及标点的使用是否正确,以使文章行文规范。

I ran back to Gunter and told him the bad news.The cash machine was also out of order! In other words,I couldn't pay him now.I felt so depressed and sorry,an embarrassed smile creeping into my face.Then an idea occurred to me.I pointed at my phone and asked him to give his phone number to me so that I could contact him when I came back here.Surprisingly,he comforted me that everything was OK since he had known how anxious I was.After we said goodbye to each other,I rushed to the queue.Fortunately,I didn't miss the whole arrangements for the conference.
Four days later,when I was back in Vienna,I called Gunter as promised.He didn't recognize me immediately when I said hello to him.So I explained my intention.At first,he refused to charge me the fare.But I insisted I owe him the money.Therefore,we made a deal to meet at the bus station.When we met,I extended my gratitude for his trust in me,gave him the fare and tipped him another sum of money.Satisfied,he gave me a thumbs-up,praised me a lot for my honesty and also thanked me for the tip,but I told him that he deserved it.Till now,every time I recall this experience,I can't help wondering if there is more trust and honesty in the world,how charming our world will be.
