  Bamboo is very important to music in China. Many traditional Chinese wind instruments were made from bamboo. Some experts think the first bamboo instrument might have started from burning bamboo. When bamboo burns, the air inside expands, creating a loud noise. Maybe this gave people the idea for inventing the simple bamboo flute. Today, there are still many types, like very long flutes played by several people together, very short ones only 45 cm long, special ones with only one hole, and paired flutes used in Yunnan.

Using her iPad and drawing skills, Wu turns some classic Chinese literary works into animated(动画的) videos. These videos have been very popular online so far. She started with texts from high school Chinese textbooks after noticing that many students aren’t interested in these works. “These classic stories should be part of our lives, not just schoolwork, ” she said.
In her videos, Wu focuses on bringing text and music together. For example, she used a sad song in her video about A Dream ofRed Mansions(《红楼梦》). She drew the beautiful Grand View Garden first, and then a sad scene after the family’s
downfall. Showing both drawings together creates a sense of pain and shock.
“Today, people need quicker way to understand stories as they get busier

Wu’s creative videos have won strong support. But she is still not completely satisfied with her work sometimes. “I want to perfectly translate the pictures in my mind into art on my own, ” she said. “Through these videos, I hope to build a bridge between classic literature and young hearts. ”
