一、教学目标
知识目标:1.通过学习本课,能够听说读写单词January,February,听说认读词组Spring Festival, New Year’s Day, 句型January is the first month of the year. February is the second month of the year.
2. 通过学习本课,能够理解序数词的概念,掌握其基本用法。
3. 通过学习本课,能够运用现在进行时表述与相关的活动。
语言技能:1.通过学习本课,能够灵活运用本课所学内容讨论与月份、节日相关话题。
2.通过学习本课,能够通过图片、词语、例句提示,朗读创编歌谣,进行简单的对话,对话题进行讨论。
学习策略:1.通过学习本课,能够借助思维导图的方式将话题与所学内容、已有知识储备进行整合完成课堂任务。
2. 通过学习本课,能够在课堂交流中注意倾听、积极思考。与他人合作共同完成各项活动。
情感态度:1.敢于开口,不怕表达中出现错误。

文化意识: 跨文化交际意识的培养,是英语教学的一个重要组成部分。词汇是文化信息的主要浓缩。本课中关于月份词汇January和February来源于罗马神话故事,通过对单词词源的理解既帮助学生有效记忆单词,同时能够激发学生了解西方文化的兴趣,进而学会尊重不同文化多样性。本课主线围绕给美国朋友Vicky介绍中国一月二月份的节日和相关活动为主线,开拓学生国际视野,培养学生跨文化交流意识,将热爱祖国、热爱祖国传统文化这一社会主义核心价值观与跨文化交际的英语学科核心素养相统一,达成本课教学德育目标。
二、教学重难点:
教学重点:能够掌握本课单词、句型January,February节日New Year’s Day, Spring Festival,句型January is the first month of the year. February is the second month of the year.
2.教学难点:初步体会序数词的用法,并结合生活实例运用first,second进行描述。
三、教学策略:
1. communicative teaching method: 师生交流、生生交流的方式完成各项活动
2. audio-visual teaching method: 电子白板互动、视频播放、电子投影。
3.task-based teaching method:以具体任务为学习动机,已完成任务为学习过程,在完成任务过程中提高综合语言运用能力

Step 1 Warming-up
Enjoy a video: Happy New Year
T : What day is it?
S: It’s New Year’s Day.
T: When is New Year’s Day?
S: It’s on January 1st.
【设计意图】本课为词汇句型课,学生通过学习上一课内容对教师导入的新年话题并不陌生,通过白板展示功能呈现视频并提问的方式让学生初步感知本课所学月份相关内容。播放视频内容关于新年倒计时,让学生体会节日气氛。

T:She asked me to give her some suggestions. Let’s watch the video and try to help her. OK?
S: OK! Students will watch the video and find out what they can do for Vicky)
T: In this class we will learn about January and February. After learning you can send an e-mail to Vicky. Ready?----S: Yes.
【设计意图】:呈现学习任务:了解一月二月相关内容,为来自美国的好友Vicky一二月份来中国度假提建议。使学生对本课所要进行的活动进行初步了解,激发学生继续学习的兴趣。渗透中西方文化交流意识,以好友访华为主线帮助学生了解跨文化交流的途径可以通过网络、视频等方式。

T: Now let’s learn January in these 6 aspects and try to give Vicky some suggestions.(教师呈现一张关于一月份的思维导图)
【设计意图】:将本课所学内容分为两个板块-一月和二月,通过19课的学习学生已基本掌握相关表达,通过思维导图模式帮助学生结合自己所学知识,描述与January 相关内容。发散学生思维,培养学生的创新意识,自主学习能力。
3:Try to describe January.
(1) Learn the word” January”
Teacher will tell students the origin of January and help them to remember the new word.
Students will listen to the teacher and know the word “January” comes from Roman mythology. Then they read the chant in groups.
【设计意图】六年级学生对英语文化知识特别感兴趣,根据学生这一特点将单词January的学习以它在罗马神话中的起源作为依托并结合已学单词library中ary词缀帮助学生记忆单词,利用白板分步骤展示功能进行实现。通过单词词源的分析,使学生产生对西方文化学习的兴趣,尊重世界文化多样性。
(2) Try to describe January in different aspects.
Teacher will set up different situation and give students some tips and pictures to help them describe January.
Weather:
S: It’s cold and snowy in the north of China.
It’s warm and rainy in the south of China.
Festival: T: Which festival is in January?
S: The New Year’s Day.
T: What are you doing at the New Year’s Party?
S: We are singing,dancing and chanting .
T: Now let’s learn a new chant. Then you can chant at your New Year’s Party
Students will learn the chant in Lesson 20
Sports: Students will use present progressive to describe some pictures.

【设计意图】白板辅助下进行教学,通过思维导图的引导学生运用不同时态讨论与一月份相关的话题,这一部分主要以师生互动、生生活动为主要学习方法,学生可结合自身已有的知识储备畅所欲言进行交流,在学习语言的同时培养学生逻辑思维能力。通过介绍一二月份的食物和旅游景点,使学生了解饮食文化,培养热爱祖国大好河山的情怀。
4. Learn the ordinal numeral-first and second and related sentences.
Teacher will ask students to find January on the calendar. Students point to it

通过图文相对应的模式让学生了解序数词的用法,学习新单词February
S:February is the second month of the year. (Spell the word and use “second”to make sentences)
T:When do we use the ordinal numeral in our daily life? (以图片例举生活中用到序数词的地方,并要求学生用序数词进行描述)
S:China takes the first place in the Olympic Games.
S: English is the first class on Monday.
S: Monday is the first day of a week.

利用smart白板书写、拖放、展示功能辅助教学,生动形象地展示学习内容,通过白板活动功能激发学生学习兴趣进而延长课堂的有意注意时间。
【设计意图】利用日历让学生初步感知序数词的使用方法,学会拼写February, the first month, the second month 相关表达。并结合生活实例进行序数词小练习。激发学生继续探索运用序数词描述生活场景的兴趣。
5. Learn to describe February. Then try to make the mind of February.
Students will learn the new word Spring Festival and try to describe some activities during Spring Festival. Then they will try to make a mind map of February.
运用白板拖放、幕布、flash小插件的多种功能辅助教学。
【设计意图】:以序数词在十二生肖中的用法过渡到与二月份相关的节日等内容,十二生肖属于中国传统文化一部分,通过练习渗透学生文化知识,通过公历年第一天是新年,农历年第一天是春节,既能帮助学生记忆节日的具体时间,也能使学生了解公历、农历的差异,进而体会中西节日文化的不同,此外要求学生以小组合作的方式仿照一月份制作二月份思维导图,在学习新知的同时培养学生利用思维导图拓展话题的能力,提高逻辑思维能力。本课教学尝试利用思维导图教学方法进行教学,以期学生学会将已学知识与谈论话题相结合,这也符合新课标提出的语言的学习应该具有连贯性,同时要培养学生结合实际情境学习语言运用语言的能力。
Step 3 Practice and summarize
1. Show time
Teacher will choose some groups as an example. Ask the group members to
show the mind map of February and describe February in their own words.
2.T: Don’t forget our task today. Try to write an e-mail to Vichy and give her some suggestions.
Students will fill in the blanks of an e-mail.
【设计意图】: 课堂小结,小组展示思维导图描述二月份相关信息,通过首字母填空的形式将本课核心词汇、句型与本课学习任务给Vichy回邮件相结合,使学生在语境中习得英语。同时通过向Vicky介绍中国传统节日春节的习俗和活动,使学生对祖国文化有了更加清晰的理解和认识,鼓励学生与外国朋友进行交流,传播中国传统文化。
