DNA can be found in all living things. It has information about how a plant,an animal or a person will look and work. Every living thing has different DNA. That’s why it can be used to identify(识别)a plant,an animal or a person.
Last year,DNA from a tree helped the US police catch a man who stole trees from a public forest.
In 2018,Justin Wilke and two other men cut down several trees in the Olympic National Forest. The forest is owned by the US government. And it’s against the law to cut down trees there.
The men were stealing bigleaf maple trees. Bigleaf maples are valuable because they’re used for making musical instruments,like guitars and violins,as well as furniture and floorboards. A single large
