课题 A Child of Two Cuisines
教学目标
According to the new Standard curriculum and the syllabus, the core competences are as follows: Cultural awareness objectives: Let students know the representative food of China, understand the diversity of foods through knowledge of food in different countries; enhance cross-cultural awareness, deepen the understanding of unit topics, and generate interest in the topic; Language & learning competence objectives: Students can get the general idea of the text by skimming, and accurately understand and explain the meaning of the title; through intensive reading, students can quickly find out the sentences that express the characters' views on food in the text and sort out the structure of the articles; 3. Thinking quality objectives: Students can simply describe and evaluate different kinds of food and different countries in English based on their existing life experience.
教学重点: Guide students to learn about representative Chinese food through video materials, enhance cross-cultural awareness, deepen the understanding of unit topics, and generate interest in the topic; Guide the students to complete the matching activities of food and country, and know the representative food of the world; Guide the students to understand the main idea of the text through independent reading and group cooperation, and sort out the structure of the text. 教学难点: 1. How to guide students to simply describe and evaluate different foods, which can arise their thinking on Chinese and foreign food cultures; 2.To guide students to pay attention to the characters' emotional attitudes towards different foods and to understand the food culture from a cross-cultural perspective.
教学过程
Teaching procedure Leading-- in Step 1: Please watch a short video and answer some questions. While watching the video, please pay more attention to the adjectives the foreigner use to describe delicious food in China. Question1: What different type of food are introduced in the video Question2: Have you tried any of the food in the video What did you think of it (使用教材视频,A Taste of China通过外国人在中国的美食经历,展示中国的特色美食文化,更引入下文世界美食文化,为本课主题树立跨文化意识,兼容并包做铺垫。) Step 2: Please match the food to the countries on the map. (将世界特色美食与对应国家连线(动画连线更形象)。设计意图是引领学生了解特色世界美食,为本课主题树立跨文化意识,兼容并包做铺垫。) While--reading: Fast-- reading Step 1: Show the boy’s picture and let the students guess the topic of the passage according to the title. (图片展示,本环节培养学生通过文章题目猜测文章主题的意识) Step 2: Please go through the passage and answer the questions. 1. Find out the main idea of the passage. 2. Match the main idea with each part. (根据题目和快读全文,找出文章的主题;用漂亮的弓箭形式(更形象)告诉学生文章每一环节皆为主题而服务,引导学生将文章分层,并分析每层大意。本环节旨在构建学生的篇章意识,培养学生寻找主旨大意的能力。) Careful-- reading: Step 1: Please read paragraph 2-4 and find out the the family members opinions about the food and supporting details. (通过展示美食图片,孙思蕊同学的披萨故事视频和谷爱凌等外国运动员喜爱中国美食的视频,引导学生分享自己享受别的地区或国外美食经历,锻炼学生的英语表达能力,进一步引导学生的跨文化交流的意识,进一步理解本课的主题。) Step 2: Both Chinese and foreign food have typical features of its own. As we know spring festival is the grandest festival in China. Christmas for western countries is of the same importance as the spring festival in China. So lets learn more details About the typical food in the spring festival and Christmas okay The two videos come from our classmates Jerry and Rain.And they did the voice of the two videos,Let's enjoy them.(引导学生为春节和圣诞美食视频配音(借助英语趣配音),并展示两个同学的配音成果,锻炼学生的英语表达能力,提高学生学习英语的兴趣,进一步引导学生的跨文化的意识,理解本课的主题。) Summary:So boys and girls every culture has its own features.
