教学目标
By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: ●Knowledge objectives: 1. Understand the stylistic features of a journal entry. 2. Learn and use correctly new vocabulary and sentence patterns in the process of writing. ●Ability objectives: 1. Write a journal entry to record the experiences and feelings of the first week of high school life according to the model journal entry. 2. Learn self-reflection. ●Emotional objective: Cultivate good habits of recording and summarizing their study and daily school life.
教学内容
Key points: 1. To guide Ss to learn about the structure and outline of the diary. 2. To guide Ss to use correctly some words, expressions and sentence patterns of "journal entry" and transitional vocabulary . Difficult points: 1. To guide Ss to master the structure of a journal entry. 2. To cultivate Ss’ ability to apply practical expressions of diary into practice.

Lead-in (3 min) Ask Ss to look at some pictures of school life and ask them a question: what memories do you have In which way will you keep those memories Look at some pictures of school life and answer the question.. To introduce the topic and arouse the students’ interest and activate the Ss’ background knowledge.
Review and learn(10 min) Ask Ss three questions to arouse Ss’ thinking. Guide Ss to go through My First Day at Senior High ,Making a plan, developing ideas and Writing a journal entry to find the words, expressions and sentence structures. Guides Ss to pay attention to the tense and the content. According to the questions, try your best to find the answers. Read the passages quickly and find some words, expressions and sentence structures to express experiences and feelings. Try your best to remember the words, expressions and sentence structures 1.To practise students’ ability to analyse and summarize the reading text. Help students to master plenty of words, expressions , sentence structures , correct tense and correct sentences. 3.Provide Ss plenty of words, expressions to for Ss to write a good journal entry .
Think and Share(4 min) Ask Ss a question to lead them to think about some other expressions. Work in pairs and discuss. Show their own answers Provide Ss plenty of words, expressions to for Ss to write a good journal entry .
Think , follow and learn(6min) Require Ss to master the sentence structures and look at the sentences and learn to make sentences using them. Practise making sentences using the sentence structures and then give your sentences To make Ss learn to make sentences using good sentence structures and useful expressions
Think and create(20 min) Guide Ss to recall their own experiences of the first week at senior high and complete the notes in Activity 6. According to provided information involved , guide Ss to write a journal entry. Give Ss a writing assessment and ask them check writing each other. And pick one to present. Recall their experiences of the first week at senior high and complete the notes in Activity 6. Accumulate useful expressions and write a journal entry. Check writing each other. 1)To consolidate and integrate the language. 2)To Practise writing a journal entry with the help of the given structure. 3)To get familiar with the assessment of writing.
Step 4 Reflection (2 min) Guide Ss to recall what they’ve learned in unit 1 and ask them to finish the reflection on page 12. Encourage Ss to talk about what they need to improve. Summarize and comb the knowledge in unit 1 and finish the reflection on page 12. And rate their performance. 1) To review the unit, and rate their performance. 2) To cultivate Ss’ habits of reflection.
Homework Ask Ss to write a journey entry and remind them to pay more attention to the style, sentence structure and content. According to what we have learned and your memories of high school life ,write a journey entry Write a diary to record the experiences and feelings of the first week of high school life according to the model journal entry.
Blackboard design The left is used to present the basic knowledge information and the right is used to present the analysis of key points needing to be paid attention to. Let Ss have a good outline of the lesson.
