A credit card is like a “short-term loan (贷款)” from a bank. When you buy something, the bank pays the store on your behalf (代表你) first. Then you should repay(偿还) the bank before a set date, usually once a month. If you do that, you don’t have to pay any extra fees (额外费用).
But credit cards have risks (风险). If you forget to repay on time, the bank will ask you to pay extra money called “interest”. This can make the money you owe (欠) grow quickly. What’s worse, it’ll affect (影响) your credit record. For example, you may find it difficult to borrow money or apply for a credit card in the future. Even when you try to get a loan to buy a house or a car, it could be much harder because your bad credit record shows you might not repay on time. Also, it’s easy to overspend with a credit card because you don’t see cash leaving your hands.
Another risk is that if you lose your card, someone else could use it. You might have to pay the bill if you don’t report the loss immediately.
Credit cards are convenient, but you need to use them carefully — only buy what you really want, and always pay your bill in full and on time.

In modern society, people are using cash less and less. With the development of technology, digital payment methods such as credit cards and mobile wallets are becoming more common.
One reason for this change is convenience. People can pay for things quickly by tapping their phones or cards, without having to carry cash. Online shopping also greatly benefits from this technology. Shoppers can easily buy things from around the world by using digital payments.
However, cash won’t disappear completely in the near future. In some areas with poor internet connections, people still need to use cash. And when there is no electricity or the network stops working, cash becomes the only way to pay. What’s more, some people prefer cash because it keeps their information private (秘密的) and helps them control their spending more easily.
In short, while the use of cash is declining (下降) , it will continue to exist side by side with digital payments for a long time.

第三节 短文理解。请用你所听到的内容,填写表格中所缺单词,每空限填一个词。短文读两遍。
Long long ago, people used shells to buy things. If you wanted food or clothes, you gave shells to the seller. It was the first kind of money.
Later, metal coins appeared. They were stronger and easier to carry. Then someone invented paper money. It made payment even simpler because it was lighter than coins. For a long time, people used coins and paper money to pay.
Now things are changing again. Many people hardly use cash. They pay with phones. And there’s digital money: it’s not real coins or paper, just numbers on a phone or a computer.
From shells to digital money, the way we pay has changed a lot. But one thing stays the same—we need a way to buy the things we need.

参考范文
Dear Mike,
I can understand your sadness. But money comes from our parents’ hard work. We shouldn’t always ask them for what we want. Let me tell you my story about saving up for something I loved.
Last year, I wanted a new basketball because my old one was broken. I decided to save money for it myself. I only drank boiled water and stopped buying snacks and other things I didn’t really need. At home, I helped my mom with housework to get a little cash. It took me three months, but I finally saved up enough. When I held the new basketball, I felt so proud. It was not just a ball but also taught me the patience and the joy of working for what I love.
Stick to your small goal and try your best to work for it. I’m sure you’ll get the model ship soon.
Yours,
Li Hua
