During a recent math exam, I found myself in a situation that tested my honesty.
Math has always been the subject that I’m best at. And this time I was rather sure of myself because I had spent several days preparing for the math exam.
Halfway through, I couldn’t work out a really difficult problem. I had practised similar problems, but my mind just went empty. Time was almost up, and I suddenly felt very worried. Just then, I noticed the boy next to me had already solved the problem. And I could see his answer clearly.
My heart began beating really fast and felt a bit nervous. I thought about copying the answer. It seemed like an easy way out, and I was sure no one would notice.
But suddenly, I remembered what my parents and teachers always told me: Being honest is the most important. Cheating (作弊) might get me a good grade this time, but it wouldn’t help me learn or become better. I knew that if I did it, I’d regret later. So, I managed to calm down and chose to be hones I picked up my pencil and started to solve the problem by myself. It took a few minutes, but I finally made it.
When the exam ended, I didn’t feel glad just for finishing it. In fact, I truly and really took pride in myself for being honest. Even though I didn’t get all the answers correct, I knew I did the right thing. This experience taught me clearly that honesty is far more important than grades. Cheating won’t get you far, while being honest will always lead you to the right path!

A.nervous-worried-excited-proud B.nervous-worried-proud-confident
C.confident-worried-nervous-proud D.confident-nervous-proud-excited

A.Math exams are always difficult. B.Honesty is more valuable than grades.
C.Practising problems brings good results. D.Parents and teachers help students succeed.

Meat can be tasty. It is often good for us and it has been part of our meals for long. However, some organizations, like the Soil Association, say meat should not be eaten every day, especially in schools. This is because farming animals for meat can be bad for the environment and lead to climate (气候) change. The Soil Association wants schools to have more plant-based meal choices that do not cause environmental problems. The Government already advises that schools have one no-meat day each week, but not all schools follow this advice. So what do you think
Yes! It’s important to have no-meat days
Everyone needs to do their bit to help the planet, and eating less meat is a good start. Although meat can be healthy and is good for us in the right amounts, eating it every day means a lot of animals have to be farmed. This uses up valuable things such as water and land. The animals themselves add to climate change by producing methane (甲烷). Besides, it’s not necessary to eat meat every day. There are many ways to get the nourishment (营养) to be healthy. We could eat foods like beans, nuts, potatoes and so on. What’s more, eating more plant-based foods will lower the pressure on the problem of being overweight among students.
No! ▲
Students should be able to decide what they eat—it’s a personal choice. Some students, for example, might eat a little bit of meat each day, but less overall. Besides, meat is full of nourishment needed for growth. If schools don’t serve meat, they might choose junk food instead. It’s right to tell and educate young people about climate change and the results of the farming industry, but they should be encouraged to change their eating habits rather than being told that they have to. Making people change their habits doesn’t always mean people can change their minds.
23.According to the text, what does the Soil Association advise schools to do
A.Stop all meat meals. B.Increase junk food choices.
C.Serve meat every day. D.Offer more plant-based meals.

A.It’s up to the students to make the decision.
B.Students should avoid eating junk food.
C.It’s necessary to change students’ eating habits.
D.Students should eat a little bit of meat every day.
26.What is the main purpose of the text
A.To encourage schools to serve more meat.
B.To explain why meat is unhealthy for students.
C.To discuss whether schools should have no-meat days.
D.To question the government’s advice on school meals.

I used to have a motorcycle (摩托车). One Sunday in summer, my 10-year-old daughter and I went for a ride in the countryside. We took the back roads to a park where the view was fantastic! The wind was strong enough to give more pleasure to riding the motorcycle.
Halfway through the park, the motorcycle was out of gas and stopped working, leaving a woman and her daughter, 20 miles from home, hopeless.
Along came a motorcyclist. He slowed, got off his motorcycle and asked what the problem was. He had long hair and didn’t look kind. Some people would have looked at him and said, “Oh, one of those unpleasant people.” But I’ve known many people like him, both good and bad, so I hoped that he was among the good ones.
When I told him about our trouble, he offered to help. I rode his motorcycle with my daughter and he pushed my motorcycle. Through hard work, we finally reached a small town next to the park.
On those days, most gas stations were closed on Sunday. They included the station in the town. My new friend jumped on his motorcycle to search for an open gas station. Before long, he was back with some gas for my motorcycle, and we were on our way again! Without accepting my payment for the gas he’d bought for us, he just rode away.

Dear Alice,
I’m glad you’re interested in our “Learning from Lei Feng” activities. In March, we did a lot of things in the community.
First, we did some cleaning. We picked up the trash in the park and on the streets, making the places tidy and clean. Then, we took care of the kids. We played games with them and helped them with their homework. Also, we taught people how to sort rubbish and told them why it was important.
