Some animals can easily find their way home after a long journey. How do they make it Scientific research shows that they are born with certain unusual abilities for direction.
A certain kind of ants, for example, can count their steps to avoid getting lost. They can go as far as 110 metres and bring food home. These ants live in the open desert, so they have nothing to guide them along the way. It’s like someone walking six kilometres through a dark forest.
Some fish have an unbelievable sense of smell. They can smell even a single drop of their home water in a large sea area. Some seabirds have a similar ability. They are able to make a smell map of their flying area.
Some animals can sense the earth’s magnetic field (磁场), while humans can’t. This magnetic field guides a certain kind of fish when they swim a long way to a place and then back. How can this kind of fish do that It is still a mystery. Scientists have no good answers yet.
However, animals with such unusual abilities still have difficulty dealing with environmental changes caused by human activities. For example, many birds depend on stars for direction, but they get lost easily at night when city lights are kept on all night. To solve this problem, we can simply turn off some lights at night. Clearly, one small act of humans may mean a lot to animals.
66.How can a certain kind of ants find their way
A.By imagining the way. B.By counting their steps.
C.By bringing food together. D.By walking through a forest.
67.Which of the following animals can sense the earth’s magnetic field
A.A certain kind of ants. B.Some seabirds.
C.A certain kind of fish. D.All desert animals.
68.Which word is close to the underlined word “mystery”
A.Feeling. B.Choice. C.Reason. D.Secret.
69.What are people advised to do according to the last paragraph
A.To help animals. B.To travel at night.
C.To keep city lights on. D.To develop unusual abilities.
70.Which can be a proper title of the passage
A.Birds’ Sense of Light B.Fish’s Sense of Smell
C.Animals’ Sense of Direction D.Animals’ Sense of Magnetic Field
六、任务型阅读(满分10分,每题2分)
阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
When it comes to mobile payments in China, the QR code (二维码) is king. However, Alipay, a money app, introduced a new paying method called “Tap (碰一下)!”. It lets users pay by simply tapping their phones on a small machine. No more scanning codes (扫码)—your payment is done after just a quick tap and a short high sound! This magic trick uses a technology called NFC, or Near Field Communication.
NFC uses magnetic fields (磁场) to let devices (设备) “talk” to each other. When two phones or a phone and a payment machine are placed very close, they create a tiny magnetic field. This field helps them share data safely and quickly, almost like sharing secrets only they can hear.
Sony and Philips first made NFC in 2002, but it didn’t become popular until Apple Pay started in 2014. Now, NFC is everywhere! You can use it to open apartment doors, share photos between phones, or even check your pet’s ID card by tapping your phone. If your pet gets lost, scanning the card helps others return it safely.
NFC is faster and safer than QR codes. While QR codes need you to scan a square box, NFC just requires a tap. It uses strong secret codes to protect your money. Plus, since NFC only works when devices are centimeters apart, thieves can’t steal your information from far away.
Experts say QR codes and NFC won’t take the place of each other. They’re like best friends helping in different situations. For example, at a parking lot, QR codes are easier because you can scan them from farther away. But at stores, NFC’s quick tap saves time.
So next time you see someone tap his or her phone to pay, you’ll know—it’s NFC magic, making life easier and safer!
71.How does the paying method “Tap!” let users pay
72.What helps two devices share data safely and quickly
73.When did NFC become popular
74.Why is NFC considered safer than QR codes for payments (写出一个答案即可)
75.Do you prefer to use NFC or QR codes when you get on a bus Why

For example, “She is wearing a green dress.” After that, we wrote a few sentences about ourselves, beginning with “Last weekend, I was wearing...”. Hello everyone. Do you like running I usually run three times a week. If you are a beginner at running or just want to try the sport, here is my advice for you to avoid getting hurt. First, wear the right shoes. A good pair of shoes shouldn’t be either too big or too hard. The right size is very important to protect your feet and knees. Second, prepare your body for running. Some warm-up exercises are helpful, especially for your knees. Third, choose the right place. Don’t run in busy streets or on mountain roads. A safe place like a playground could be a good choice. Finally, mind your running speed. Don’t run too fast in the beginning. If you feel too tired or uncomfortable, stop in time to rest. Hope these suggestions may help you have a safe running experience.
Q: How often does the speaker run
Which could be a better place for running
