For many girls from villages in China, a dream job could be anything, except working in a village. But Zhang Guifang, a 24-year-old college graduate, gave up running her business in Tianjin and returned to her village.
As a young member of the Communist Party of China, she was chosen as the Party secretary of Sanjia village in December, 2021. Although she once had many ways to develop her village, they weren’t put into practice because of lacking money. The “rainbow village” idea was accepted because it didn’t cost a lot of money. Zhang hoped to bring in many tourists through this project and develop the local economy (经济).

Do you know something about the first African-American woman astronaut She was Mae. When she was young, she took dance classes in her spare time. Many of her friends enjoyed dancing and hoped to be dancers when they grew up. Mae did not have the same dream as the other kids. Instead, Mae dreamed of becoming a scientist.
Few women had jobs as scientists in the 1960s. But Mae did not let that trouble her. She imagined flying in space. She knew that someday she would be an astronaut through her hard work.

Poyang Lake, China’s largest wintering area for migratory (迁徙的) birds, welcomes hundreds of thousands of seasonal visitors each year. Li Chunru, a 78-year-old man from Dongzili village in Jiangxi, China, has been taking care of injured birds there for over 40 years.
One stormy day in 1982, Li found many fallen bird nests with chicks struggling on the ground. He took about 500 injured (受伤的) chicks home. Though he was only a farmer at the time, he had the experience of learning at a local medical school in Jiujiang. With the knowledge, he was able to save about 300 of them.
It made Li love protecting birds. In 2012, he bought an old house for 30,000 yuan and spent about 100,000 yuan on renovations (翻新). Then he made it into a help center for migratory birds.
