Making Requests
39.It__may__seem__like__a__simple__request__to__ask__for__salt__and__pepper__at__a__meal. In Portugal, this would be a serious mistake, because it shows the chef that you don't like their seasoning skills. Similarly, in Italy, never ask for extra cheese to add to your food.
Some of these cultural dining etiquette rules may seem random and strange, but they are important in various countries. 40.___________________________________________, the more comfortable you'll begin to feel with its foreign cultural practices.
B.The more time you spend in any given country
A.The more friends you make in your lifetime
B.The more time you spend in any given country
C.Mexicans consider it inappropriate to eat with utensils
D.Don't get caught making an embarrassing mistake at a restaurant
E.It's a good sign for the chef if you make a mess around your plate
F.Never stick them upright in your food or cross them as you use them
G.It may seem like a simple request to ask for salt and pepper at a meal

But are all online courses created equal How can you be sure that digital learning is right for you 37._____________________________________________________________________________ We interviewed students and professors to get their advice about online courses.
[解析] 空后一句“We interviewed students and professors to get their advice about online courses.”
F.If you take an online course, what can you do to ensure the best possible grade
A.But that doesn't mean there aren't deadlines.
B.Your motivation should be your main concern.
C.Do you know that online courses are also part of your education

How to Stop Procrastinating (拖延) at Bedtime
When I have done the dishes, cleaned the living room, and shot off my last work email of the night, it is “me” time. It is also, cruelly, bedtime. I know I should sleep, but instead I stay up way too late scrolling (滚屏) on social media. This is my only uninterrupted time. 1.____________________________. Such phenomenon is called “bedtime procrastination”. People with stressful days and little control over their time are those who are most likely to fall into that category. However, all too often, bedtime procrastinators end up exhausted the next day, thus sinking into a terrible cycle. Here are some tips to regain control of your sleep.
A.I want to maximize it
A项中的it指代上文中的“my only uninterrupted time”。
·Move up your “me” time. Although this might not be possible for everyone, consider shifting your self care tasks to earlier time in the day. 2.________________________________________________________, or include meal preparation Sundays in your weekly routine so you can get the hours back that you would have spent cooking each weeknight.
E.Invest in a high-end dishwasher to get in a quick yoga session
·3.__________________________.When you scroll on your phone or watch TV in bed, weekdays or weekends, you're training your brain to think that's what you're supposed to do in bed. A good choice is to reserve your bed for sleep, especially if you struggle to fall asleep at night.
B.Don't hang out in bed
·Create a relaxing bedtime routine. Create one that you look forward to. Practice yoga, take a warm shower, or listen to an audiobook—the key is to do whatever you find most calming and enjoyable. Experts also recommend washing your face and brushing your teeth, right after dinner. 4._________________________________________________________.
F.Then it won't be such an effort to get into bed when you feel sleepy
Do remember, overcoming bedtime procrastination is not about perfection, but progress. 5._______________________________________
________________________________. Whether you're struggling with sleep problems or mental stress, addressing sleep procrastination can be a game-changer. Start tonight by setting a reasonable bedtime and sticking to it. Your future, well-rested self will thank you.
G.Small but consistent changes bring
significant improvements over time
A.I want to maximize it
B.Don't hang out in bed
C.Read physical books instead
D.If you are working to a tight schedule even on weekends
E.Invest in a high-end dishwasher to get in a quick yoga session
F.Then it won't be such an effort to get into bed when you feel sleepy

As a recovering people pleaser, I spent much of my life keeping others happy. Breaking this habit meant stepping on toes. However, I've become a happier person as a result. Here are some tips I used to stop being a people pleaser.
