(1)含义和其字面意思没有任何关系;
(2)上下文逻辑通顺;
(3)与原句意思最接近;
(1)与所考词汇形似;
(2)如果考的是熟词、旧词,含有常规词义或本来含义的往往是错误选项;
In__the__wrong__hands,__such a book could prove as complicated to process as the computer code (代码) that powers AI but, thankfully, Campbell has more than two decades' professional experience translating the heady into the understandable.She writes from the practical angle of a business person rather than as an academic, making for a guide which is highly accessible and informative and which, by the close, will make you feel almost as smart as AI.
32.What does the phrase “In the wrong hands” in this paragraph probably mean
A.If read by someone poorly educated.
B.If reviewed by someone ill- intentioned.
C.If written by someone less competent.
D.If translated by someone unacademic.

[解析] 第一步:阅读题干,找出关键词the phrase “In the wrong hands”和this paragraph。
As a new unit started, I asked everyone to write a persuasive piece on a health -related topic of their choice. This time they found the exercise much more interesting. For the next two assignments, a personal -narrative unit followed by a creative -writing workshop, I only required that the piece meet the specifications of its genre (体裁) and that it contain a thesis. The results were staggering. The students took on diverse topics and turned in stories, 10 to 20 pages each, with characters that broadened my view and touched my heart.
26.What does the underlined word “staggering” in paragraph 3 mean
A.Mixed.      B.Amazing.
C.Similar. D.Disturbing.

第二步:根据关键词,定位到原文画线词下文“The students took on diverse topics and turned in stories, 10 to 20 pages each, with characters that broadened my view and touched my heart.”
[典例3] “This is one of the most creative and valuable technologies that I've seen as a farmer,” said James Johnson of Carzalia Farm in a statement, who has used Carbon Robotics' technology on his farm. “I expect the robots to go mainstream because of how effectively they address some of farming's most critical issues, including the overuse of chemicals, process efficiency, and labor. The__sky__is__the__limit.” It's no surprise that the 2021 model of the Autonomous Weeder has already sold out, even considering its price tag which was quoted at “hundreds of thousands of dollars”.
The de -weeding method of the robot is Certified Organic and in line with regenerative farming practices. Cost effective weed control is the biggest barrier to entry with organic farming, and agriculturalists looking to make the switch finally have an alternative to help them get their vegetables out to people.
33.What does the underlined sentence “The sky is the limit.” mean in paragraph 4
A.The robots won't spread widely.
B.The invention is very promising.
C.The weeder addresses limited issues.
D.The technology needs further improvement.

[解析] 第一步:阅读题干,寻找关键词the underlined sentence “The sky is the limit.”和paragraph 4。
第二步:根据关键词,定位到原文第四段中的“It's no surprise that the 2021 model of the Autonomous Weeder has already sold out, even considering its price tag which was quoted at ‘hundreds of thousands of dollars’.”
代词多是it、this、that、he、them、they、one、those等。一般来讲,it/this/that指代一件事;it/he/them/they/one/those可指代上文提到的人或事物。
There are up to 30 students at any given time in Ho's class. She generally works with their regular teachers to get lessons and tests being used at their home schools. Some teachers don't give the kids any assignments; they express sympathy instead. “I feel like it is a disservice to the kids,” Ho says. “They think their teachers don't care about their schoolwork.”
26.What does the underlined word “it” refer to in paragraph 4
A.Offering regular lessons.
B.Paying extra attention.
C.Assigning no schoolwork.
D.Showing no sympathy.

[解析] 第一步:阅读题干,找出关键词the underlined word “it”和paragraph 4。
根据“就近原则”和代词所指代的内容一般出现在前面的句子中,且it表单数或整体概念可知,此处it指的是“Some teachers don't give the kids any assignments”,代入原文,符合句意。

A

Here's a quick quiz.
Person A does a favor for you. Person B asks you to do a
favor for him. Who do you tend to like more Surprisingly,
the answer is Person B.This quirk (怪癖) of human nature is known as the Ben Franklin Effect.
Benjamin Franklin came across the phenomenon in 1736 when serving as a clerk to the Pennsylvania General Assembly. A powerful member didn't care for Franklin and threatened to make life miserable for him. What to do Instead of winning him over with sweet talk, Franklin asked if he could borrow a rare and valuable book the man owned. This request altered the man's attitude and paved the way for their friendship. “He that has once done you a kindness will be more ready to do you another, than he whom you yourself have obliged.”
Several studies have confirmed this. But how can we explain the Ben Franklin Effect Some psychologists refer to cognitive dissonance (不协调). It's difficult to hold two contradictory thoughts at the same time. It makes us uncomfortable. We resolve this tension by changing our mind. “I don't like Joe, but I am doing him a favor,”we might think. “So maybe I do like him.”
While cognitive dissonance explains a lot, it alone doesn't explain the Ben Franklin Effect. One 2015 study found that it was, rather, the affiliative (有亲和力的) motive that the requests convey. That is, we humans want to maintain good relations with other humans, and one way to achieve this is by doing favors for others. This explains a lot about altruistic behavior. We like being useful and, by extension, we like those who give us the opportunity to do so. It's in our genes.
Yet there is much we still don't know about the Ben Franklin Effect. Does it apply equally across cultures Is there a point beyond which asking a favor makes you less, not more likable Asking to borrow a book is one thing; asking to borrow a car is another.

(2025·豫西北联盟第一次质检)Training was cruel, as Penny Lee Dean prepared for what would be a record -setting swim—regardless of sex—across the English Channel in 1978.“Your hands cramp (痉挛), and your legs cramp,”she remembers.
While the cold was bone -chilling, overcoming it has been essential to her success as a record -breaking swimmer. An ability to tolerate extreme cold is one of the advantages that women may have in this sport, as their distribution of fat is helpful for regulating body temperature in cold water.
Dean believes that any upper hand women might have in open- water swimming over long distances is more about mental adaptation and the ability to bear discomfort than about insulation (隔绝). In ultradistance events, the ability to handle more factors, from weather to pain, becomes particularly important.
In fact, women can outperform or perform similarly to men in a range of competitive events. From ultrarunning to shooting sports, in some competitions women have__the__edge.Cassio Rippel, the ISSF Athletes Committee Chair, says that while men's muscles tend to give them more staying power, women's lower body mass and lower centre of gravity, on average, allow them better balance control. The rifle (步枪) events are the most sex balanced of the three types of shooting events in the Olympics, according to Rippel.
The century- long history of the Olympics is also a history of the growth of female empowerment. An increasing number of female athletes have broken gender barriers, achieving remarkable success in traditionally male- dominated sports. The Paris Olympics are the first Olympics to have equal numbers of female and male athletes. This is also an opportunity to think carefully about what gaps in inclusion still remain.
While much of the science of sex and performance may be unsettled, one thing that's very clear is that more research needs to involve women. The path toward greater inclusion has not been straight, and more questions than answers remain about the role of sex in athletic performance.
