Halfway down the cliff at an overhanging rock, my legs started to 44 from exhaustion, and my fingers grew cold. Just then, I heard my father yell, “Rock!” A fist-sized stone hit my 45 , and a sharp pain shot through my thumb. I struggled to steady my breath, certain that one wrong step would send me 46 .
“Are you okay ” Dad asked 47 .
“Y-yeah,” I said, stretching my hand. It wasn’t broken, just a little swollen.
“You can sit down, lean back, and let the harness (安全带) take your 48 .” He shifted; the harness held. I 49 into my harness, and my legs stopped trembling. Together, we 50 ourselves the rest of the way down.

1:Para2 Descending the opposite side of the mountain felt different.(从山的另一面下行感觉完全不同。)
1:Para2 As I looked down, my heart raced wildly.(当我往下看时,心脏狂跳不已。)

A. reached B. surveyed C. abandoned D. marked

A. simple B. different C. strange D. normal

B hand.
D falling.

C lowered.
53题答案:A .
D trusted
