三、参考答案
Dear David,
I’m writing to seek your help. These days, I’m conducting a survey about teenagers’ reading habits, and I’ve
come across some problems that puzzle me a lot.
First, I find it challenging to design effective survey questions. Many of my questions are either too general
or lead to inaccurate answers, which makes the data unconvincing. Second, I’m not sure how to analyze and
present the collected data in a professional way in English so that I can draw meaningful conclusions.
Could you please offer me some suggestions on how to improve my survey questions and data analysis I’d
really appreciate your help.
Yours,
Li Hua

三、参考答案
It was Anna, jogging back toward me. “What are you doing here ” I asked. “You should be at the finish
line!” “I got to the two-mile mark and didn’t see you,” she said, breathing hard. “I got worried. Are you
okay ” Anna knelt down beside me. She gently stretched my leg and offered me her hand. I took it, and she
helped me up. For the rest part, Anna stayed by my side. She slowed her pace to match mine. She talked me
through the pain, telling me when to walk and when to jog again. “You’re doing great, John. Just keep going.
I’m right here.”
3
As we crossed the finish line, Anna asked, “One more time next year ” “Yeah,” I said. And for the first
time, I meant it. Dad was at the finish line, cheering for us. Anna threw an arm around my shoulder, saying
“Not bad for your first race, little brother.” After the race, I couldn’t stop thinking about how Anna had given
up her race to help me. I started to look at my sister differently and realized something: I hadn’t just learned to
love running. I had learned to love having her as my sister. Sometimes the best things in life aren’t about
winning—they’re about who’s running beside you.

I first became interested in theater 11 years ago. I was 23 then and had just moved to a new town in
search of work. (17) I didn’t have any friends or family nearby. That’s why, when one of my new neighbors
invited me to the local theater, I decided to give it a shot. I was attracted by the homely theater and the
friendly people who ran it. (18) They were looking for new people to help out backstage — working the lights,
moving scenery around, that sort of thing. I signed up. On my first show, I was asked to run the lights. (18) It
was actually an unexpected use of my computer engineering degree! (19) After a few years, I decided to try
my hand at acting. I tried out and won a small part in a comedy play. From there, my acting “career” grew, and I
discovered a talent I never knew I had! Now I can’t imagine my life without theater…and who knows Maybe
I’ll even direct my own show in the future! (20)
