教学过程
Step 1 Warm-up & Lead-in
1. Picture Talk: Show the photo of the sick boy. Ask: “How do you think the boy is feeling Why does he feel that way What do you think he should do ”
2. Discussion: Discuss “How do we take care of ourselves ” List suggestions (Sleep well, Exercise regularly, Eat healthily, etc.).
3. Song Time: Sing the song about body parts to review words (head, stomach, throat, etc.) and activate interest. Step 2 Pre-listening (Task 1: Discover Health Problems)
1. Vocabulary Learning: Learn body parts and health problem words (stomachache, headache, toothache, sore throat, backache, cut, fever) with pronunciation guides.
2. Matching: Finish 1a: Match the health problems with the pictures.
3. Practice: Practice asking and answering using “What’s the matter He/She has a...” to describe the pictures.
Step 3 While-listening (Task 2: Find out the Cause)
1. Listen for Problems: Listen to 1b (four conversations) and write the health problems next to the students (David, Ben, Nancy, Judy).
2. Listen for Causes: Listen again and find out the cause of each student’s health problem; complete the table in 1b.
3. Listen for Advice: Listen to 2b (three conversations with the school nurse), circle the health problems in 2a, and listen again to complete the nurse’s advice for each student. Step 4 Post-listening (Task 3: Give Advice & Role-play)
1. Matching: Finish 2a: Match the health problems with the things you should do.
2. Role-play: Choose one conversation from listening (1b or 2b) and role-play it with partners, following the structure:
A: What’s wrong / What’s the matter
B: I have a...
A: What happened
B: I...
A: You should/ shouldn’t...
3. Pair Work: Work in pairs for 2c: Take turns to ask for and give advice for different health problems (runny nose, cough, bruised knee, etc.).
4. Show Time: Invite groups to perform their role-plays or 2c dialogues. Step 5 Summary & Emotional Sublimation
1. Knowledge Summary: Review health problem expressions (have a+ ache/sore +部位, have a fever/nosebleed) and advice sentences (should/shouldn’t, could, avoid doing sth.).
2. Emotional Sharing: Share: “Have you ever helped someone with a health problem How did you do it ”
3. Poem Recitation: Recite the health poem together: “Help friends when they feel bad, Eat well and stay glad. Ask for help if you’re hurt, Love your body, it’s your worth. Take care every single day, Happiness will come your way.”
作业布置 必做:Write 2 sentences about what you should do for a fever (use the phrases from 2a).
选做:Think of one more health problem and write a short advice for it.
