Analysis of
teaching material
The topic of this unit is art world. Art is related to students’ daily life. The content of this lesson includes comic strip and the welcome part. The dialogue between Eddie and Hobo can arouse the students’ interest and inspire students to learn about art forms. The welcome part help students get some basic knowledge about art and encourages students to talk about their favourite art forms.
Analysis of students
Students in Grade 9 have learnt some words and expressions about art, so it’s not difficult for them to talk about their favourite art form. However, they need to improve their knowledge of art.
Teaching objectives
By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
read and write the new words of this part.
talk about their favourite art forms and express reasons.
enjoy different art forms and enjoy life.

T: Do you still remember what Eddie likes doing? Yes, he likes eating. But today he found something more pleasant.(教生词pleasant)

3. Read after the tape.
4. Will Hobo share the cake with Eddie? Work in pairs to act and try to make up an ending.
