China takes action to deal with water problems, too. From March 22 to 28 is the China Water Week. During this period, the Chinese government starts a “river chiefs (负责人)” project.
Just as every province, city and county (县) has a leader, every river in China will have a chief, too. Local government heads will be river chiefs. Teachers’ Day is an important holiday in China, and it has been around for thousands of years!
In old times, people celebrated a similar holiday on the birthday of Confucius (孔子). Besides celebrating Confucius’ birth, all teachers had a day off and received dried meat as gifts.
Modern Teachers’ Day in China was set up by the government in 1985. The government hoped that by celebrating this holiday, more people would know the importance of teachers.
Today, people celebrate Teachers’ Day on September 10th every year. One of the most popular Teachers’ Day celebrations is visiting the old school. This allows students who have already graduated (毕业) to show thanks to their old teachers. For students still in school, there are many ways to show thanks to their teachers, such as sending cards, writing letters, or giving flowers. Many schools also have class celebrations on this day. For example, some classes will give “Most Popular Teacher” awards.

例文
Hello, dear friends! I’m Li Hua. Today I’d like to share the Dragon Boat Festival, a cherished Chinese tradition, with you. I love it because its lively traditions remind us of our history and bring families together.
Falling on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, it commemorates Qu Yuan, a patriotic poet who drowned himself in protest against corruption. To honor him, people race dragon boats and eat zongzi, pyramid-shaped glutinous rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. The vibrant boat races symbolize unity and perseverance, while zongzi represents the ancient act of throwing rice into rivers to prevent fish from devouring Qu’s body.
Thank you!
