Huang was born in Guangdong Province in 1926. When he was young, he saw that our country was in a very hard situation. He wanted to use his knowledge (知识) to make our country stronger, so he studied really hard.
In the 1950s, China started the difficult job of building nuclear submarines (核潜艇). Huang Xuhua joined without thinking twice. During that difficult time, the job seemed impossible to finish. Finally, in the 1970s, China’s first nuclear submarine was built and tested successfully. China became one of the countries that could make nuclear submarines.
