Unit 7 Will people have robots?
Section A (1a-2c)
This unit is very important in our book. There are four parts in my content: Analysis of the teaching material, Analysis of the students, teaching and learning methods, teaching procedure. According to the teaching material and the students’ truly situation, I design this lesson.
In this unit I mainly use task-based teaching methods and situational approach. Students can work in groups or pair work to develop their spirit of cooperation.
Ⅰ、Teaching aims:
knowledge aims:Learn and try to use the words(paper, pollution, Pollute future, prediction, environment, planet, earth, plant, part and some sentences).
skill aims:Students will be able to make predictions about the life in the future.
emotion aims:Know about the serious environment problem; play a part in saving the earth.
Ⅱ、Teaching difficulties and importances
Teaching difficulties: Learn and use the structure about future with “there be”
Teaching importances: Learn the usage about “more/fewer;more/less” and the future structure “will + V”.
Ⅲ、Teaching procedures:
Step1. Lead-in
let students see a robot show before class to arouse the Ss’ learning interests to lead in the future structure: Look at the screen, they are robots, will people have robots?
Step2.make a model: Fourteen years ago, I was a student. Now, I’m an English teacher. In ten years, I’ll be a better teacher. What will life be like in the future? Show the mind map to enable students to master the new words and sentences.
Step3. Discuss and do some exercises about the future structure.
Step4.Look at the two boys, what are they doing? Maybe they are talking about the future. Listen and circle the predictions you hear in 1b, before listening, look at the sentences first and pay attention to the red words to be familiar with them.
Step5.Show your ideas; and then go on prediction.
