On December 18,2025,China Media Group (CMG)
announced the four mascots(吉样物)for the2026 Spring
Festival Gala ()Their names are Qiqi,Jiji,Chichi and
Chengcheng.These cute horse-shaped mascots fit the gala's
theme well-"Run Forward with Big Energy".Since 2026 is
the Year of the Horse,the design of the mascots comes from
classic horse images in Chinese history and culture.
The designers got ideas from two famous things.One is a
well-known bronze item from the Western Zhou Dynasty,a very old bronze thing with
horse patterns.The other is the Bronze Galloping Horse from the Eastern Han Dynasty,a
famous national treasure.Each mascot has its own special traits():cloud designs on their
bodies mean smooth progress.Qiqi has a beautiful dark green body;Jiji has wings like a
magic horse;Chichi has a unique three-flowered hair on its neck,and Chengcheng looks like
a rare type of wild horse..They stand for grace（优雅)，creativity,confidence and
environmental protection.
As soon as they were announced,the mascots became very popular.They showed up on
big screens in Guangzhou's busy areas and at a small store in Shenzhen.Many people came to
take photos with them.CMG also made some cultural products,like spring bowls,plush dolls
and postcards.We have a famous lucky saying for this year:ma dao cheng gong.It means
when the horse arrives,success comes right away.These products let traditional culture go
into people's daily life.The lovely mascots have become a warm bridge between traditional
culture and modern life.
