A few months ago, I had a disagreement with my parents. We argued about how much time I could spend playing online games.
The problem was caused by me often playing before finishing homework. I promised to play only one hour after studying, but sometimes I broke my promise. My parents thought the games were affecting my studies and habits. In the end, we agreed on a new rule: I can play only on Friday and Saturday nights for ninety minutes, after showing my completed homework. I’m sorry for not keeping my word earlier.
After this disagreement, I learnt that my parents’ rules come from care, not control. Our relationship improved as I now talk to them more openly, and they listen to me more patiently.
