一、语法定义
动词不定式(to do)表目的,指用to do结构
说明动作发生的目的或意图,即“做某事为了做另一件事”
在句中作目的状语,位置灵活
可置于句子末尾,也可置于句子开头
二、核心用法1:基本结构(句末作状语)
最常用结构:主语 + 谓语 + 宾语/状语 + to do sth.
作用:说明动作的目的,无需强调
例句1:He went to the library to borrow some books.
例句2:She studies hard to pass the exam.

强调目的结构:To do sth., 主语 + 谓语 + 其他.
注意:句首不定式后用逗号与主句隔开
例句1:To catch the early bus, he got up at 5 o’clock.
例句2:To improve my English, I take an online course daily.

总结:可放句首/句末,否定直接加not在to前

句首错例:So as to wake the baby, he spoke quietly.
否定:He spoke quietly so as not to wake the baby.
总结:只能放句末,否定为so as not to do

除了不定式,还可用从句表目的
后接完整句子,常搭配can/could/will/would
两种核心结构:so that + 从句
in order that + 从句

原句:He studies hard to pass the exam.
转换:He studies hard so that he can pass the exam.
要点:补充主语,保持语义一致

常配情态动词:could/would
原句:To arrive on time, we left early.
转换:In order that we could arrive on time, we left early.
要点:句首用逗号,与主句分隔

表目的:不定式是状语,修饰整个句子
说明“做某事的目的是什么”
作宾语:不定式是宾语,跟在动词后
回答“动词的对象/内容是什么”

(to write with修饰bought,表买笔的目的)
2.He opened the door to let the cat in.
(to let the cat in修饰opened,表开门的目的)
3.We read books to gain knowledge.
(to gain knowledge修饰read,表读书的目的)

1.She wants to buy a pen.
(to buy a pen是want的宾语,回答“想要做什么”)
2.He hopes to travel around the world.
(to travel是hope的宾语,回答“希望做什么”)
3.They decide to study hard.
(to study hard是decide的宾语,回答“决定做什么”)

表目的的to:不定式符号,后接动词原形
介词to:属于固定搭配,后接动词-ing形式
关键:判断to的词性,避免形式错误
