Dear diary,
I once failed the school speech competition. I'd practiced it for two weeks, but I forgot my lines on stage. It was a big pain because I really wanted to do well to make my English teacher proud. I felt disappointed and so nervous that I wanted to cry.
My friend suggested I practice my speech in front of my family first and record myself to check my mistakes. So I followed her advice: I practiced for 10 minutes every evening, and my mom helped me fix my pronunciation.
Later, I became more confident when speaking in public. Last month, I did a great job in our class book report. I learned that failure is not scary—it helps us find our problems and grow stronger.
