关键技法一 词法——巧用升级路径,词汇超群出众
词汇不仅是英语写作的基础,也是提升写作水平的关键因素之一。词汇运用的丰富性和准确性是读后续写博得高分的一条重要标准。
笼统词→具体词
笼统词的特点在于意义广泛、搭配性强,常见的笼统词包括make、have、take 等。但由于笼统词的数量较少,多次使用会导致文章中的单词重复率过高,文章枯燥无味。
具体词的特点在于能精确描写具体事物、具体动作和具体情节,因此,为了让描写的对象生动形象,考生可以选择适合语境的具体词,使文章富有变化,表达鲜明。

低阶词汇→高阶词汇
从某种程度上讲,英语写作本身是一个展现考生词汇量的过程。如果通篇文章都是低阶词汇,评分自然不会太高。因此,适当地使用一些高阶词汇是一个提高写作分值的非常有效的方法。

单词→短语
为了增加文章词汇的丰富性并达到长短句错落有致的效果,可将写作中的一些单词用与其意义相近的短语进行替换,从而在含义不变的基础上,丰富文章的结构和层次。

运用有表现力的状语
恰当地使用富有表现力的副词或介词短语作状语,能够使描写更加生动形象,使续写内容更加丰富多彩、更加富有生机和活力。考生在使用这些状语时,要注意把握这些词汇的确切内涵,并且符合故事发展的内在逻辑及上下文的语境。
介词with或in后加表示情绪、个性等的名词,经常可以与相应的副词互换,恰当地使用此结构可以增加表达的多样性。

关键技法二 句法——妙用句法结构,句式精美绝伦
在读后续写中句子就是灵魂,丰富的句子能够更好地刻画人物和故事。因此,丰富句子的内涵和外延,能够有效地提高得分的档次。一般情况下,提分最高效的方法就是恰当地使用高级的句法结构。因此,考生首先要掌握基本的扩句技巧,然后再记牢一些高分语法结构,才能够在读后续写的写作中更胜一筹。
【如虎添翼扩句法】
扩句是指在简单句的基本主干的基础上,增加细节,用描述性的语言(状语、定语、补语等)使句子内容更充实,句子表达更形象。
添加/改写状语
句中作状语成分的主要有副词、非谓语动词、介词短语、独立主格结构和状语从句等。
*Fortunately, the rescuers arrived in time and the little girl was saved.(副词)
*Hearing the bad news, he was frozen to the spot.(非谓语动词)
*To her great joy, the old man, who was familiar with the geographical characteristics, informed her of the way to the lake. (介词短语)
*Exhausted as we were, we felt our time and effort worthwhile. (状语从句)
添加/升级形容词
*Seeing the fierce bear, he was frightened.(添加/升级形容词)
*With a confused look on his face, my father asked me what I was up to.(添加形容词)
添加连词/从句引导词
*With the time moving on, I felt happy because I learned a lot of things.(连词)
*The old man is unwilling to leave New York, where he has lived for decades. (定语从句引导词) 
*The incident left me a really amazing memory, which would last a long time in my mind.(定语从句引导词)
补充顺承、递进、因果、转折等衔接词
*I have contributed a great deal to helping him achieve his dream. Therefore, in my inner heart, I felt happy.(因果衔接词)
*However, instead of blaming them for their carelessness, their father just patted them on the back, comforting, “Don't worry!”(转折衔接词)
【锦上添花塑结构】
读后续写的评分标准中,有一项是要求我们的写作句式多样化。因此,通过应用复杂的语法结构,变换文章的写作结构,能够有效地构建高分续写语篇。
善用从句
/名词性从句/
?主语从句
重点掌握 (1)句首用it作形式主语,将真正的主语放在句尾,避免头重脚轻;
(2)what引导的主语从句。
*It suddenly struck/hit/occurred to me that playing against the other team is a great learning opportunity.
*With his hard work, it is no wonder that he made such great progress in writing.
*It is well-known to all that where there is a will, there is a way.
*Therefore, it goes without saying that it is this motto that brings me motivation and encouragement.
*What impressed him most is that his mother never lost faith in him.
?同位语从句
重点掌握   that引导的同位语从句,解释说明抽象名词fact、news、truth、idea、word、suggestion等的内容。
*The thought that we might have got lost in such darkness added to our helplessness.
*Word came that I had won the first prize in the competition, making me extremely excited.
*The fact that he didn't want to cooperate with me really hurt me.
*They were shocked at the news that their hometown had been flooded.
?宾语从句
重点掌握   宾语从句是最常见的名词性从句,不仅能更简单明了地表达复杂或丰富的意义,而且能增加句子的灵活性,并强调重点信息。
*I jumped at the idea and volunteered to buy whatever was necessary to make a pizza.
*As a freshman, he was at a loss what he was to do to fit in with the new environment.
*After what seemed like ages, they finally made it to the top of the mountain.
?表语从句
重点掌握 表语是用来说明主语的身份、性质、品性、特征和状态的一种成分,最常见的表语从句:
(1)that 引导的表语从句,构成“what...is/was that...”或“the reason why...is/was that...”;
(2)whether 引导的表语从句;
(3)...seemed/appeared as if/as though类表语从句。
*Now, the only problem is whether the new plan can solve the problem.
*The reason why Jerry told a lie was that he was afraid of being punished for breaking the vase.
*It seemed as if the world were coming to an end.
/定语从句/
重点掌握   关系代词who、whom、whose、that、which、as引导的定语从句是写作的一大亮点。先行词为人时,用who 或whom引导定语从句;先行词为物时,用which或that引导定语从句。此外,还有which和as引导的非限制性定语从句,以及“介词+关系代词”引导的定语从句。
*Despite his poor health, he managed to complete the training, which was extremely tough.
*Every word in the letter was the best encouragement that inspired her not to give up.
*Fortunately,I had a mother who was always offering support, no matter what happened.

/状语从句/
重点掌握 状语从句在句子中修饰谓语动词、非谓语动词、定语、状语或整个句子,能够让文章更加生动。根据其作用可分为时间、地点、原因、条件、目的、结果、让步、方式和比较九类状语从句。其中,读后续写中的高频提分点为:状语从句和状语从句的省略。
状语从句的引导词:
(1)时间状语从句:when、while、as、as soon as、the moment、every time等;
(2)目的/结果状语从句:so/such...that...、so that等;
(3)让步状语从句:although、though、while、even if/though等;
(4)比较状语从句:the more...the more...、as...as...、no more...than等。
*The nurse encouraged me to visit Suki so that she would not be so lonesome. (目的状语从句)
*As soon as I wrapped the scarf around David's neck, his face lit up with joy.(时间状语从句)
*Though tired, they all laughed with massive satisfaction.(让步状语从句的省略)
*We have made such proper arrangements that we can have a good rest after the whole day's hard work.(结果状语从句)
妙用非谓语
重点掌握 恰当地运用非谓语对简单句和复杂句进行转换,不仅显得句式多样,句子活泼,而且可使表达更简洁、更高级。非谓语高分结构:
(1)v. -ing(特别关注v. -ing作结果状语,表示自然而然的结果);
(2)v. -ed;
(3)to do不定式(特别关注 to do不定式作目的状语;only to do作结果状语,表示出乎意料的结果);
(4)with复合结构;
(5)独立主格结构。
*On my last visit, she gave me an envelope, saying it contained her email address.(v.- ing作状语)
*A young man came to the police station, surrounded by a group of journalists.(v. -ed作状语)
*I could hardly believe my ears, tears welling up in my eyes.(独立主格结构)
*With the gentle breeze softly kissing my face, I went home with my lovely child gratefully.(with复合结构)
形容词(短语)作状语
重点掌握   形容词(短语)作状语用来表达主语的状态,或解释某个动作的原因、结果或与之伴随的状态。形容词(短语)往往用逗号和主句隔开。
*Unable to answer the teacher's question, all the students kept silent.
*With the help of the helicopter, Mary got out of the forest and saw her husband, safe and sound.
*Curious to know what the crowd in the shop was staring at, Harry edged his way inside and squeezed in.
部分倒装和完全倒装
重点掌握 倒装用于表示对特定句子结构或句子成分的强调。倒装句的使用丰富了语言表达,让句式更加多样。因此,适当使用倒装会使文章的表达更生动,让阅卷老师眼前一亮。
部分倒装:
(1)“so+adj./adv.”置于句首引起的部分倒装,强调某种情绪;
(2)not until、hardly/scarcely...when、no sooner...than、only then置于句首引起的部分倒装,强调动作发生的时间。
完全倒装:
(1)为了强调时间、地点,而将时间、地点状语放在句首;
(2)such位于句首作表语,往往作为升华强调和总结。
*So shocked was I that I was dumbfounded with my eyes wide open.
*Not until then did Megan pour out what had been disturbing her the whole day.
*At the front door stood Jane's husband who suffered great anxiety when she was nowhere to be found.
*Such is the key to success—a little bit more efforts and a little bit more determination, and you will create a little bit more miracles.
强调结构
重点掌握 强调结构可以突出重点,增强表达效果,将表达提高一个层次,使句式更加丰富。
结构如下:
(1)强调句型:It is/was...that/who...;
(2)借助助动词do/does/did强调谓语动词。
*It wasn't until I unpacked the bread at home that I realized that I'd broken the rules again.
*She firmly believed that it was my daily visit that contributed to her quick recovery.
*He did have the talent—his voice was clear and convincing, and his speech was logical and well-organized.
虚拟语气
重点掌握 虚拟语气用来表示一种假设,而不是客观事实,所说的是条件,不一定是事实,或者与事实完全相反,常用来表达惊异、惋惜、遗憾、理应如此等含义,在续写中可以用来表达比较强烈的感情。常见结构如下:
(1)没……的话,某人就……:Without..., sb. would (not).../But for..., sb. would (not)...;
(2)希望……: wishing...;
(3)但愿、只要、如果……就好了:If only...;
(4)如果再有一次机会,某人会……:Given one more chance, sb. would (not)...。
*But for this experience, I wouldn't have realized that I should spend more time with my family.
*Steven lowered his head with embarrassment, wishing he hadn't made that slip of tongue.
*“If only I had listened to my mother's advice!” the little girl whispered to herself.
*Given one more chance, I wouldn't have judged a person by his appearance.
“动词+宾语+宾语补足语”结构和it作形式宾语
重点掌握   “动词+宾语+宾语补足语”结构是读后续写中不可缺少的高分结构,正确掌握这种结构能够为续写篇章增色不少。为使句子结构保持平衡,也会用it作形式宾语,而将真正的宾语(动词不定式或宾语从句)置于后面。
重点掌握 常用于“动词+宾语+宾语补足语”结构的动词如下:
(1)五看 look at、see、watch、observe、notice;
(2)三让make、let、have;
(3)两听hear、listen to;
(4)一感觉feel。
注意:find和get也用于此结构。
*At the moment, I found myself filled with great guilt but greatly moved.
*Smiling at each other, we felt the evening just made everything worthwhile.
*Seeing the polar bear on the move, Gross was greatly puzzled.

A wave of fear washed over me as I pieced together the situation. The remote likely triggered (触发) the lock when I threw it onto the driver's seat. Inside the car were our purses, keys, and most importantly, Bailey. The rising temperatures now posed a serious threat to her—being trapped inside a hot box without water.
Assessing the problem with a clearer mind, I instantly reached out to a local auto repair service for assistance. Unfortunately, they couldn't guarantee their arrival time due to staffing shortages, leaving me anxious about Bailey's well being.
