议论文是一种剖析事物、论述事理、发表见解或提出主张的说理性体裁。
1.构成:(1)论点(作者的观点,即被证明的对象);
(2)论据(证明论点的依据);
(3)论证(运用论据证明论点的过程与方法)。
2.结构:(1)绪论(提出问题,即What);
(2)本论(分析问题,即Why);
①正方论点;②反方论点;③对反方论点的批驳;④转折过渡语
(3)结论(解决问题,即How)。
3.语言特点:
(1)英语议论文类似英语说明文,时态较为统一,多用现在时;强调语言的客观性并指明信息来源;
(2)多使用表达委婉语气的词语和句子;
(3)多使用过渡衔接词,表明文章逻辑关系。
议论文考查频率较低,难度偏大,因此考生想要取得高分,首先要克服畏惧心理。具体方法如下:
1.注重结构:开头寻找主旨句,明确作者的观点;
2.辨识并标记出正方论点;
3.通过尾段,再次核验主旨。
